Best way to lose weight with gallstones?

Lost 2 stone on WLJ last year, but due to suspected gallstones, have decided to pause this.
Would really like to lose 2 stone. Has anyone with gallstones managed this, and if so, what is the recommended way to do so? Bearing in mind gallstones require a low fat diet, but then I also read fasting is not a good idea…I want to lose the weight but not exacerbate current health condition.
Any ideas appreciated.

A long time ago, but I lost a load of weight while waiting for my gall bladder operation due to the very low fat diet I was on.

Plod on and lose no more than 2lb a week. One pound even better but NHS says 2lb limit.

Eat a low fat, reduced calorie diet with plenty of lean protein and vegetables and exercise when you can.

There’s absolutely no need to fast to lose weight.

My mum had gallstones many years ago and followed a diet by Rosemary someone, she lost weight quite quickly and it was very low fat. I’m sorry I can’t remember her name but from what I remember the lady that advertised the diet had gallstones too. It’s most likely out of date now though.

Rosemary Conley’s Hip and Thigh Diet. Very 1980’s 🤣. It’s a low fat diet essentially.

When I was waiting for my gallbladder removal I was on a diet where nothing was more than 3% fat, extremely strict but did help prevent flare ups and I lost a lot of weight on it. It isn't a sustainable diet though in my opinion as it is so restricted but it did work for me both in terms of managing the issue and losing weight.
