Did tummy tuck/mummy makeover solve your problems?

Having lost 7 stone, I have a fair bit of loose skin. I can put most size 10s on but my FUPA often shows and I have to push myself to keep trying new trousers as I know sometimes the cut can be right and look nice but it takes a lot of work. I am pear shaped and only mildy looking at a TT as I just wanted to be slim originally but im a deflated fat wobbler!

Exercise aside, which is a plan but wont fox this type of belly, would I still have same issues with clothes or have you had TT and now can wear anything?

I had a tummy tuck, muscle repair and lipo 6 months ago.

it has been life changing for me, really transformed my appearance. I lost 7 inches around my waist from the surgery. He took 5lb of skin off and 1lb of lipo was removed.

I’ve added before and 6 months after picture but they’re under review

anddeepbreathandsigh · 28/02/2026 21:58

Could I ask how your inner thighs are? That’s what I’m thinking of having done.

anddeepbreathandsigh · 28/02/2026 21:58

Wow. Your pictures are amazing!

You look fantastic!

Can I ask, how much this procedure cost? And how long was your recovery? Thanks

It was £11,750 in the UK.

that included….

full standard tummy tuck, liposuction and muscle repair plus one compression garment and 1 night hospital stay. Also included is lifetime aftercare support with him.

he took off 5lb in skin and 1lb in liposuction.

recovery is different for everyone. The first week was the worst, well the first 24 hours were horrific and I did think what have I done!!!!

I was driving after one week.

very bruised etc for around 6 weeks. No lifting anything more than the weight of about 14lb for about 12 weeks. That was a nuisance tbh as you don’t realise how much you lift until you can’t.

you can’t stand upright for around 10 days to 2 weeks so you are slightly bent over.

@ItsStillWorkhow much would it be for extra nights in the hospital?

ItsStillWork · 09/03/2026 14:19

You also need around £1000 for after care like lymphatic drainage massages, scar gel (ridiculously expensive), loads of compression garments as you go down in them in sizes as your recovery progresses and you need a fair few of them in each size for washing etc

I had 8 lymphatic massages at £80 a time (the surgeon paid for 3 as part of my surgery fee)

I’ve no idea as one night stay was what they offered, it was never discussed if anyone needed any longer

@ItsStillWork your results are amazing!
im going to be having a tummy tuck this year and keep flip flopping between feeling like it will make me feel so much better and feeling guilt about not being able to accept my body as it is… has it made a noticeable difference to your confidence and happiness in general?

Absolutely life changing for me!!

my stomach spoilt my appearance, I had to be very selective with clothing, and I had a c section over hang.

the surgeon did say the average skin removal is 3.5lb so I was over what he usually takes off.

do your research on your surgeon, look at real self website, look at the surgeons credentials, how long they have been a surgeon for and what boards they’re on etc

PeasePuddingPottage · 09/03/2026 19:09

@ItsStillWork my tummy tuck sounds pretty much identical to yours as do the pics. I paid £12,200 for mine.

@PeasePuddingPottagethe odd £200 was what I paid for the night at the hospital. Had mine done 5+ years ago so may be more now.

I paid £60 per session for the lymphatic drainage and was recommended twice a week for 4 weeks. I only had one set of compression garments though, one was like a very tight swim suit and the other was a band with strong Velcro I had to wrap around my waist. I didn’t remove anything for a week then when I did I was able to wash it, dry it and put back on pretty quickly.

Best thing I ever did!
