I’ve been a stone overweight for over a year now, and creeping slowly upwards.

I can’t wear half my clothes, and since I can’t/won’t buy a whole new wardrobe, I need to lose this stone!

Starting again tomorrow. Plan is to stop being greedy and living on constant chocolate and sweets, and instead eat one large healthy meal a day.

I really hope I can finally do it!

Hi I will happily join! Also have a stone to loose and a sugar addiction to battle with. Are you logging calories?

OhShutUpThomas · 23/02/2026 22:42

Hi!
It’s a proper sugar addiction with me, I need to name it!

I'm going to log calories but try not to get obsessed over them. 1500 is mg losing calories.

What’s your plan?

I started yesterday. Plan is to lose 20lb in 5 months. Had overnight oars, fruit abd pecans for breakfast, a fruit and veg fresh handmade juice for lunch, then for dinner I had tandoori salmon and prawns on salmon and grains with a mint raita. Hoping to have lost something tomorrow, even not a gain would be good!

Im starting again tomorrow too. Hoping to lose a stone and a half before December. Hoping to
replace chocolate and sweets with fruit and vegetable, and walk/run 100 miles in March.

Yes, me too. Also a stone overweight at 11st. I’ve had success in the past with calorie counting

HolidayHunter7 · 23/02/2026 23:44

Yessss I’m starting tomorrow too! Not looking forward to it 😬

OhShutUpThomas · 24/02/2026 22:07

Me! I'm trying to drink a glass of water every time I get the urge to snack, do a proper menu plan and I've banned crisps from the house (my husband gets them then I eat them) I've asked him not to get ⁶snacks out when he watches tv because I always end up eating them too. I'm recovering from low iron/ possible post viral fatigue so exercising has been really difficult.

OhShutUpThomas · 24/02/2026 22:24

Same @Lovelyview I actually had an infusion 6 weeks ago though and finally starting to feel better. What are your levels?

Snacking is my main downfall. I’m trying to ban it altogether, I think that will work best. I think I need a few quite low calorie days too though to kick start me.

It's only been a couple of weeks since I decided to loose weight.
Don't know if it was the right time in my head but one Sunday morning I got on the scales and I was 89.1kg.
At aged 66 and 5ft 1inch my body was not in a good shape.
Within an hour I'd joined slimming world on-line as I knew that attending classes was not for me.
For me it was learning what I could eat that was good. Books from slimming world arrived quickly to get ideas.
Water and coffee without milk and no sugar.
More veg and fruit. Excersise consists of me dancing around the living room. Not confident to go to the gym.
As of this morning I'm now 86kg.
I do have one treat a day 3 chocolate peanuts.
Good luck in loosing your weight.

I think being tired makes you reach for high calorie foods to try and boost your energy levels so it's much harder to eat sensibly. I can't remember my levels. The first blood test was classed as unsatisfactory and the second (after taking iron for a month) satisfactory but low. I still felt rubbish then caught the fluey thing that was going around at Christmas. So I'm swinging between feeling quite energetic and feeling exhausted at the moment. Still taking the tablets so hopefully will be feeling more energetic soon.

Please can I join you all too?
I also have a stone to lose. I keep trying and failing - same old same old. I have been focusing recently on being more consistent with getting steps in. Nutrition is my downfall.

I will weigh tomorrow and use MFP to count calories.
