Weight Loss - This time I mean it!

2stone · 15/02/2026 13:25

I have 2.5 stone to lose, the last 2 years is the biggest I have ever been.
My life is quite stressful, and busy, I don’t have the time to go to the gym, nor the money to the commit to weight loss injections longterm, so I’m going to try and stop comfort eating.

Weighed today… 13 stone 2, at 5ft4.
The ideal goal is 10 and a half stone.

Using this to hold myself accountable.

Ill join you @2stone if that's ok?
I have recently been focusing on making healthier habits consistently (and doing a 10K step challenge this month as an example!) but I do have at least 1 stone to lose. Probably 1.5 stone.
I need somewhere to be accountable and share progress.
I have about 12 weeks until a summer holiday so I am thinking.. I can aim for 12 lbs in 12 weeks ???
I will be calorie counting on MFP, avoiding the junk, 10k steps per day minimum, lots of water etc.
I will do some YouTube workouts and I have a stationary bike at home which I used to go on in the evenings whilst watching naff TV.

@2stoneare you a daily weigh-er or a check in once a week? I used to weigh every day and take the average.

2stone · 15/02/2026 18:43

Yes definitely @10kstepsaday! Would be good to have someone to do it with. I’m a daily weigher too! I’m thinking I want to love to be a stone lighter before it’s time to stop wearing a coat!

Brilliant 🥳
Today I ate around 1200 calories so a good first day. That is low though my goal is 1400 generally.
I also hit my 10k and drank more water than usual. No workout.
I weighed this morning so have noted down my start weight. Looking forward to seeing what can be achieved!!

Flannelfeet · 15/02/2026 22:04

I know you said you didnt have the funds to commit to wli long term but for sayings sake I lost 3st in 4 months. I started at 13st 9lb height is 5"7.5. Im maintaining with one 2.5 injection every 2 weeks and flitting between 10st 5 and 7. Im saving money on food so that really covers the prescription for me, i eat what i want but definitely know when to stop and not gorge.

Ziggy30 · 16/02/2026 07:32

Can I join please? Need some moral support. I weighed in at 12stone 5 today. My all time heaviest. I would like to loose 2 1/2 - 3 stone.

I try so hard to keep up some form of exercise but hard to maintain with 2 young children and working full time. Anyone recommend some at home exercises?

10kstepsaday · 16/02/2026 08:11

Welcome @Ziggy30
For sure the more the merrier!! I am the same working full time with a 5 and 7 yo so we are in this together!!

My YouTube favourites are - growwithjo, juice and Toya, growingannas but there are so many more. I haven't been consistent with workouts for a while but when short on time I usually find a 10-15 min workout and just squeeze it in when I can. Something is better than nothing!

Daily weigh in, and this is water loss overnight from a lower calorie day but 1lb down.

Loss: -1lb
Goal: 12lb-14lb to lose

Plan for today - it's half term so taking the kids out to a farm. Hopefully will mean I get lots of steps in. Need to be mindful at lunchtime as eating out at the restaurant.

Ziggy30 · 16/02/2026 08:35

I have a 2 year old and 10 year old.

Thank you I will have a look at them!

I have decided to start after Shrove Tuesday/ pancake day. We host have the family over. Not even going to set myself up to fail. I have done my Tesco order to get my healthy shop in for Wednesday. I am going to try fasting, eating between 12-7. We eat fairly healthily as a family but I often skip because of busy family life. I am going to continue to cook for us all (healthily) and eat smaller portions. I do drink quite well I drink weak sugar free cordial mostly (don’t like tea of coffee). Some lunch ideas for when I am back at work next week will be great.

I think I am going to give up chocolate/biscuits/sweet treats for lent.

Hope you have a great day!

10kstepsaday · 16/02/2026 20:09

That's fair enough @Ziggy30
I am definitely joining in with the pancakes tomorrow but will just aim for the rest of the day to be as healthy as possible and probably won't count calories in the pancakes 😅 I managed about 17 minutes of a Sydney Cummings workout today! And nearly 11k steps, 1250 calories.
So a successful day for me!

How are you getting on @2stone ?

DoctorBambino · 16/02/2026 22:51

I think I need to join too please! I'm already at a reasonable weight but my diet has been horrendous (mostly sugar and cheese) and my body composition is awful. Definitely need to try to focus on eating more healthy and getting more protein everyday! Need people to keep me accountable!

2stone · 17/02/2026 06:50

Hi @Flannelfeetthanks for sharing, it’s worth thinking about thanks. I Saxenda when that was the one a couple of years ago and it was amazing, but unfortunately when I stopped the weight gradually came back as I didn’t maintain the habits.

The highest dose I used was 5mg and only bought 3 of these then went back to 2.5. Its worth thinking about. I really struggled to eat on the 5mg. 😃.

Do you mind me asking which inkection you went up to? My friend has lost 4 stone but only gone up to 7.5mg whereas l thought everyone went up to the 15mg then tapered down

10kstepsaday · 17/02/2026 07:48

Welcome @DoctorBambino
We can do this!

Morning weigh in for me is:

-0.8lb loss
Running total loss: 1.8lb
I realize this will fluctuate!!

We have a day of errands here so nothing exciting but hoping to squeeze a workout in somewhere along the line to counteract the pancakes!

I only went to 5mg for 3 prescriptions so 15 weeks then went back to 2.5. To be honest I didnt think i would lose weight on such a low dose but I was very surprised at how good it worked for me. 😃

10kstepsaday · 17/02/2026 16:30

Ok yeah today is a write off 🤣
Pancake day + last minute trip to McDonald's = calories galore. Expecting a gain tomorrow but straight back on it!
Half term is a tricky one!

2stone · 17/02/2026 17:30

@10kstepsadayit’s so hard when juggling half term isn’t it! My child has SEN and I work full time, so I always find schools holidays the hardest!

OP posts:
10kstepsaday · 18/02/2026 09:49

Yes definitely @2stone !!
Hope you are ok!

Daily Weigh in = 0.4lb gain which is not too bad considering the pancakes.
Total = 1.4lb
Goal = 12lb

A day at home today but friends coming over.
I haven't had breakfast yet but I am planning a green smoothie soon. Then will keep it simple for lunch.
I have hot cross buns for the kids! We are having homemade meatballs for dinner.

Ziggy30 · 19/02/2026 07:58

Just weighed myself this morning and 2lb down. Surprised as I didn’t get an exercise in.

was - 12.6st
now - 12.4st
goal around 10st

holisticlifestyleclinic2 · 22/02/2026 20:47

Well done you for committing to this! you can def do it without weight loss injections and/or hitting the gym. Focus on a few low effort habits and you can build up on the success over time.
