Not allowed to change wegovy to mounjaro!

Been on wegovy for over 2years and on the triple dose 7.2mg but losing nothing. Only lost 2 stone overall and haven't really lost my appetite tbh. I have asked my supplier ( a well known organisation) to swap but they refused as they said my bmi is 25 so cannot prescribe. I tried 2 other suppliers and both said the same. I have a couple of friends who take mj and both have lost alot. How can I find a supplier who will allow me to swap? Any suggestions? I have no medical conditions.

Then you need to apply to the maintenance friendly pharmacies, I'm with oushk at bmi 22.8, they prescribe down to bmi 19. Swift Dr and pharmulous are also maintenance friendly. You need to make sure you tick the box which says you currently use WLI and take a photo of the wegovy box with prescription label showing your name on it or screenshot the email of last prescription and attach it as evidence

Tell them your bmi is higher than it is

Eat fewer calories than you use.

Do you feel clever now?

WineandMe · 15/02/2026 14:44

Im.on wegovy through zava medical and not losing much weight wise but losing inches. Have you measured?

DecoratingDiva · 15/02/2026 14:48

Most UK pharmacies will only prescribe Mounjaro if your BMI is 27 or over although some will still prescribe if you started at above 30 and are currently taking some weight loss medication.

I don’t know how you find one without checking them all and reading the small print.

A BMI of 25 would be considered right at the top of the healthy range so you may struggle to get a prescription.

I think you misunderstood and maybe didn’t read the other replies, she has a oresciriton she wants to change,

op, go to the maintence pharmacies, I’m guessing you’re with med express who are notoriously shite.

IrisBloom82 · 15/02/2026 15:45

Go on to the monj website and look for maintenance providers, it lists their bmi maintenance and then email them to ask if they will accept you. I have a bmi of 20, I’m with chequp, I swapped to them for maintenance with a BMI of 22. Some will allow maintenance at 19 and offer a choice of mj or Wegovy

No, not at all. I just worry that the injections will come back and bite us on the arse. It’s also the case that calorie deficit will make most people lose weight. I speak as someone who is very overweight and type two diabetic. I have lost 4 1/2 stone in the last nine months, by calorie counting, and hope that I have trained my stupid head to improve my relationship with food.

not entirely true for everyone though. I have lost far more on mj than calorie counting, I have always weighed and tracked my meals yet am eating more calories on mj but have had better success, lost 3 stone on mj, lucky to lose 6lbs just calorie counting, inflammation has a lot to do with it and glp1 reduces it. I have never been grossly overweight but have always found it difficult to lose weight no matter what I tried, I didn’t touch a potato for over twenty years because “carbs are bad” I now eat some sort of potato every single day. There is more to it than just calorie counting in my opinion. Yes some can lose weight just by a deficit; many of us can’t

Pearlyh · 16/02/2026 09:06

Lotus weightloss will prescribe if your bmi is 20 or higher and you have used weight loss medication in the last 6 months.

Pearlyh · 16/02/2026 16:31

Lotus weight loss will accept you if you have a bmi above 20 and have taken weight loss medication within the last 6 months.

Do you worry about that for diabetics that have been using the treatment for 20+ years, or do you just save that worry for those that you think haven't tried hard enough to lose weight?

Scoooobydooo · 22/02/2026 11:57

With all due respect a BMI of 25 is in healthy range. These drugs have serious side effects and the reason reputable suppliers won’t give you a prescription is because the side effect risk probably is starting to outweigh the health benefit (you say you don’t have any other health issues).
