Weight loss: struggling to stay motivated

Have been a few kg overweight for the past 10 years and have managed to lose a bit a few times and then always regained it. I don’t do extreme diets as I don’t believe in them and also wouldn’t be capable as I have a huge appetite but I see the numbers go down when I portion control and move more (obviously).
Issue is thatI always seem to go back to my old habits. Spend a week on holiday eating pretty much what I like and then come back and feel less motivated to go back to a good regime. We don’t wat much junk and plenty of legumes and vegetables etc buy would easily have a take away once a week. I love food and have a big appetite so would eat big portions at dinner as I am hungry.
I exercise twice a week at the gym, struggle to go more often due to working full time and DC.
I could do more at home but I don’t as I am lazy and lack motivation.
What is your secret for staying slim?
