I've recently seen lots on berberine helping with weight loss / cravings / bloating.

Has anyone tried it before spending £20+ on some.

I have approx 20lbs to loose. I have a terrible snacking habit. Which is 99% sweet related. Chocolate bar , biscuits and sweets.
Also been leaning more towards crisps and bread which I've never in the past really eaten.
I've actually meal prepped and planned for the next 4 days so hoping that will help too rather than snack whilst deciding what to cook?

Yes it did nothing for me, in liquid or capsule form, I gained weight on it,

Thank you how long did you try it for. I was thinking to try it for a month? Now wondering whether to bother

I’ve been taking it since coming off mounjaro at the start of the year. It has been touted as natures mounjaro but I can assure you it is not. I have been able to stick to my diet and lost weight which was always going to a challenge after 18 months on MJ but I couldn’t tell you if that is the berberine or just plain willpower. I’m certainly bloody ravenous all the time and definitely have cravings.

It really helped me, I take New Nordic. They changed their formulation recently, I think it was better before, but I still find it effective.

I found it was effective after I took the capsule, but when it wore off by the evening I was starving and ate loads. this happened a couple of days on the trot and i gave up on them.

I am trying functional mushrooms and I am definitely finding that I am eating less, craving less sugar, and have more energy so I am not getting carb cravings and energy slumps

Which NN product please?

TropicalRain · 01/04/2026 02:24

@MerseyChick This one here: https://www.hollandandbarrett.com/shop/product/new-nordic-sugar-cut-berberine-60-tablets-6100003389

Have also added a photo.

It is pricey but so worth it if it works, so I think it is well worth trying. I used to get such hard crashes, I would not feel hungry for ages and then suddenly feel ravenous and in need of allll the sugar - this corrected that. And now it reduces snacking noise.

I do take up to 3 berberine tablets a day.

I have heard good things also about functioning mushrooms and sugar.

@MerseyChick I have bought the ankway ones which are all over Facebook. The dose says take 2 a day but I started on half a day and am now in one a day, they are just tiny chewy sweet. They definitely make a difference. I have been stuck in a plateau for months and months, losing no weight and self sabotaging on carby rubbish, well the last 2 weeks I have stuck to my calorie goal every day and have lost 7lbs, it may not sound much but to me it’s my first loss since November. I highly recommend them. I have also read on here that some people have been stung by an auto subscribe but I declined that in the first purchase, just heads up :-)
