Weight loss tips

After having DC2 7months ago I’m really struggling to lose weight, I’m breastfeeding and was always super hungry when he was first born and I think I’ve just carried on snacking etc. I need to lose 10kg to get back to my weight before I got pregnant (would love to lose more!). I’m going back to work in a few months and I really need to get a move on.

I had a successful week when I put my mind to it and lost 3kg (aware that the majority of this was water weight) but I found the cal deficit impacted my supply quite a bit. He’s on 3 meals a day so I don’t feed him relentlessly like I used! But he woke more at night. I got a takeaway at the end of the week and I just slipped back into old habits which I hate to admit!

So, please share with me all of your tips/tricks that helped you!!

High protein, include good fats, less carbs, plenty fluids.

Protein. It keeps you satisfied longer and won’t spike your blood sugar.
I find late night snacking is my weakness. So I don’t buy biscuits or busts or anything that is easy to grab and eat mindlessly. If it’s big in your house you can’t eat it. Also deciding not to eat anything after 7pm (or whatever).
Other than than, try weighing and measuring your portions. Even a little over and the accumulation may stop you losing. Keep an eye on those added calories from dressings, cooking oil, sauces.
Walking is great exercise with a baby - might not help with the weight loss but will do you good!
