Mounjaro pens - anyone still getting pens with bonus dose?

Got my new one today. Still has the bonus dose. Anyone starting to get the new pens without the bonus dose?

There has been a few threads in the weight loss injections board over the last 3 months or so from posters saying they had received the new reduced liquid pens, but they were all mistaken.

So far I haven't seen anyone who has had one.

Interesting! I guess designing and manufacturing the new pen will take a while.

Everyone is still getting current pens and I don’t think there is a time line for any purported change,

Just checked reddit again and looks like some recent posts in the last couple of days saying new pen is being received in Germany, Spain and Czech Republic for 15mg pens so, if true, it might not be far away.

Looks like same pen but with reduced fill.

Yeah but I remember being told for the last year that you couldn’t twist the pens anymore for the golden dose and I’d always be proven wrong on my next one. Still waiting!

Thank you @Lifejigsaw I had already googled it, it just takes me to official pages saying why I shouldn't do it. I don't actually know what it is so I wondered if someone who knew could explain.

If you click the top link from Asda it has a section called ‘what is the golden dose’ which explains it.

The "golden dose" is a twee name for the liquid remaining in the pen you can see after 4 doses. If you haven't needed to prime more than usual, there is usually at least 0.6ml of liquid left which is a full dose (of any strength).

Some extract this dose with a syringe bought from UK pharmacies - size 1ml 6-8mm, 30-34G and use the excess medication as a 5th dose in the 5th week (but don't buy from Amazon which cannot sell as human grade syringes).

There are risks associated with this - mainly human error - measuring your dose wrong, hygiene and it is not meant to be used/not licensed so all prescribers will say don't use it.

Eli Lilly (manufacturers of Mounjaro) will be reducing the pen fill in the (near?) future to stop patients doing this. Mainly for commercial reasons.
