New year health habits for us as a family

I am looking to try and kickstart 2026 by introducing even a few healthier habits for our family. Its so hard with the busy lives we all lead and kids so engrossed in screens, to find little wins in terms of better eating and more movement. I've tried a few things and even enrolled on local council healthier families programmes where they teach us about better cooking and activity ideas but so hard to get everyone engaged and attend in person.
I came across Habily which appears to be an AI powered coach that whatsapp's you and you can ask for advice and it supports you. Anyone else tried that? Or anything similar... I just want us to try make some 1% improvements!

Easy wins:

  • Walk to school and work (if possible - don't make excuses about whether it's possible, you'll probably need to get up a bit earlier)
  • easy but nutritious breakfast. Peanut butter on toast for instance rather than Coco pops
  • weekend activity. Cycling, swimming, badminton, something new each week maybe to keep interests up.
Good luck!

Try pick one thing each month ?

so what might better eating look like? Swapping cereal for porridge? Adding an extra vegetable to each main meal ? Frozen peas , corn and spinach can go in / with almost anything. Just pick one thing to improve at a time.

or turn it into a competition - anyone who eats all the veg gets a star, anyone who eats a piece of fruit, anyone who does for a 20 mins walk
