Wow - Eshay that's amazing!!! I got mine for £8 in the local sports shop - If I run upstairs, or run anywhere it seems to 'add' on - but often I've noticed (and this bizarrely changes depending on which trousers I'm wearing!) that sometime it 'loses' steps too.

Hence the reason I round my figures up - I wouldn't want to believe my pedemeters 'offical' figure entirely (all it does is steps - and has a switch for jog/walk - which doesn't seem to make much difference LOL) -

I know what you mean about the results changing depending on the trousers you wear. Mine seems to register less steps when I'm wearing jeans but more when I'm wearing thinner trousers. I've just bought a new pedometer and this one seems to be more accurate than the old one so hopefully my weekly totals will start going up now.

I've found with Jeans I get a more accurate figure if I clip it into my front pocket - and with my elasticated trousers actually on the waist.

I'm 'tempted' to get a more expensive one that measures distances and does other fancy stuff - but I think I'll just wait until this cheapy one dies on me

Won't be sending in any "steps" for this week, as I have actually walked hardly anywhere. Have had a crappy cold/flu thing and apart from a couple ot trips to school, I've practically done nothing. As a guesstimate I would say I've walked less than 5000 steps in the past week.

Eshay · 30/01/2005 13:37

I'd better go and buy myself a pair of jeans then
