Second Nature course—anyone on it?

I was referred by my GP because I’ve been diagnosed as pre-diabetic. According to Diabetes UK this isn’t actually a diagnosis and their approach is different to Second Nature. I’m finding the Second Nature course very woolly and no use to me particularly. I seem to be the only person who isn’t overweight and the carb restrictions are something that Diabetes UK says are consistently evidence based. Good for those who are overweight or obese in the short term I think they said.
The group chats are pretty dead and the nutritional advice is a “see what works best for you but eat barely any carbs, even complex carbs”
I wondered if anyone here has any experience of it and what you think?

I did the program before the NHS recommended it and the chats were very busy because everyone on it had paid money and were incentivised. Some got so close they even stayed in touch which I didn’t. It was good for getting people into the habit of eating well and the support network was nice but I don’t lose weight as there wasn’t focus on calorie counting. I was positive about the experience though and it started me on a different journey about exercising, eating more veg and wholegrains, getting more sleep etc.

My friend did it after me and found it useless because many on it were funded and the chats were dead. The content was still good but just not the same.

Thank you for your reply. I find it I treating that the NHS have commissioned this company. My GP said most people don’t actually bother doing the course. I can see why!
