Did your appetite disappear when you were in a deficit?

I’ve been on a limited calorie intake (1200 a day) for a week for weight loss purposes. I’ve been doing this for a week and after being starving, my appetite has gone now. I’m not hungry at all, only had one meal yesterday as I wasn’t hungry in the evening. Is this normal? I have 0 appetite.

This happened to me on the gallstone diet.

After the first say 4 weeks of being absolutely famished and craving all sorts of bad food it eventually depleted into barely being hungry. Lost 4 stone.

Yes this happened to me too. Even now 2 years on maintenence I'm not always hungry and so continue to log my calories to make sure I've eaten enough over the week (rather than a day).

I think your tummy shrinks so that could be part of it but maybe your body also adjusts to the lower calories and your metabolism probably slows down too.
