I think it depends on how much you have to lose. So if you have 2 stone to lose and lose a stone I'm pretty sure everyone would start noticing.
If you've 5 stone to lose, then yes nobody might notice the first stone coming off as you would still be quite large.
As for me I had 7 stone to lose to get to the top of normal BMI (shocking I know but that's another story). I'm 3 stone down with 4 still to go and nobody has said a word to me. That said I live on my own with a dog so no man in the house.
I did ask a friend last time I saw her if she noticed me getting smaller and she said not really. She saw me 4 weeks prior and then I lost another 6lb but she said she hadn't noticed.
I'm quite happy for nobody to notice as I feel ashamed I got to this stage in the first place.
I'm worrying now about saggy skin cos I'm in my fifties now. So far not too bad but have noticed a bit of sag at top of my arms and inner top thighs so I think I probably have to start doing some gentle exercises soon to help tighten things up.
I'm eating plenty of protein and drinking water so not sure what else I can do really. I've been rubbing cream/oil into my stomach, tops of arms, inner thighs etc to try and help the skin 'bounce back'
Your husband if he sees you everyday might find it difficult to see if it is a gradual process of a small loss every week.
Someone who hasn't seen you for a while might notice it more.
I'm losing it pretty slowly - some weeks 2lb, some weeks 1lb and some weeks nothing. In some ways that is frustrating but it's the best way to minimise loose skin anyway.
I probably lost more the first few weeks but now 4 months down the weight loss is going slow.
I'm not on weight loss drugs btw. I'm hoping I can lose it all on my own but we'll see.
