1stone gone in 5 weeks, am I going too fast?

I want to be realistic and keep it off, without damaging myself. Starting weight 15 9 and 5ft 6. Now st 14 8 5 weeks on. Using nutracheck which says 1200 calories per day plus 2-3 45 min trips to the gym per week which is usually 15min high intensity cardio plus weights. Also walking 10k steps a day

Worried if I up calories i will end up gaining or be disappointed

That’s an average of 2.8 pounds a week which is a bit higher than the 1 to 2 pounds a week which is usually quoted as a reasonable rate of loss. But it’s not loads higher, so I would not be worried about it and no need to raise calories unless you want to. But you’re not going to gain weight if you up your calories unless you up them by a huge amount!

There is always a huge drop in the beginning due to ‘water weight’.
It will settle and slow, so don’t be discouraged when it does. There may even be some weeks you plateau or gain a pound or two, just hang on in there, consistency is key!

I had a similar loss to start with as was even heavier than your starting weight so it melted off first month/6 weeks lost about 15/16 lb - it was brilliant !
Then slowed down to 1/2 lb a week (sadly!!)
keep going !

It’s a good amount considering your starting weight, and will likely slow down as the weeks go by

MaybeItsTimeForMeNow · 26/07/2025 18:44

Thank you! It feels like the right time for me to hit it hard, praying i can keep it up going into autumn winter 🙏

Gosh @CoastalCalm that's incredible!

I went down four stone in 4 and a half months - I’ve put about 4 lbs on so back on now

RainSoakedNights · 26/07/2025 19:16

I lost a stone in 2 weeks when I started WLI. The first few weeks of a deficit you’ll be losing mainly water
