Had bridesmaid dress fitting last week. The dress fitted well, not too tight but not too loose, certainly couldn't afford to put any weight on between now and end of August.

So, what have I done.......put nearly half a stone on, in a week

I know it is because at the back of my mind i am thinking that i need to watch what i eat, and that automatically makes me hungry.

As far as I know, we are not having any other fittings as friend can't afford it, so I have to stay dead on 9stone between now and then. Am currently 9 stone 7.

HELP

Is half a stone a dress size? dont worry, you're bound to lose it, even if it takes til the end of August.
(How very rude, Jo.)

windygalestoday · 25/05/2008 21:19

goys?? what does that mean??

CrackerOfNuts · 25/05/2008 21:20

Do you think if I just cut out snacks I could get back down to what I need to be ?

It's so hard. It's like the "don't think about pink elephants" thing - and of course, you immediately start thinking about pink elephants!!

Cutting out snacks would be good, as would just exercising (walking, cleaning, not necessarily that gym bunny stuff) a bit more.

Good luck!!

CrackerOfNuts · 25/05/2008 21:40

That is exactly it. As soon as I think 'right emma, need to watch what you are eating', then wham, I am hungry.

Will try try try to cut out snacks, and do more cleaning. Will also try and walk more, although I walk pretty much everywhere now.

is it water retention, nutty?

do a healthy eating plan, not a diet

CrackerOfNuts · 25/05/2008 21:43

Unfortunatly not Lulu, it is just me being a pig

I agree though, it is healthy eating I need realy, not a diet.

Will have to find things to keep me occupied, as I eat when i am bored.

You can lose half a stone, nutty, but some people are stuck with unpleasant personalities
Cut out the snacking and try to do more walking, maybe
You are a good, slim weight

lulumama · 25/05/2008 21:45

i am sure you will lost the weight.. august is a while away

CrackerOfNuts · 25/05/2008 21:51

Thanks all (but one), most helpful.

Quite busy this week,so hopefully that will get rid of a bit.

Will go on the kids trampoline, if it ever stops raining.

Drink water when you feel like snacking - it's amazing (to me, anyway!) how often I can mistake thirst for hunger, so always have a glass of water first, then see if you're still peckish.

Would second exercise too, last night I went for a speed walk around the block (looked mildly insane but hey...) because I was having a few cravings, it completely took my mind off food. The trampoline is fab exercise too!

Good luck, I'm sure you'll do it! (and if it's any comfort, DH can put half a stone on in one MEAL, so don't think of it as a permanent, irrecoverable gain...)

SpinningEm · 26/05/2008 18:29

You should be able to shift half a stone no probs if you're that determined to! Even if you have to resort to crappy slimfast you'll do it - good luck
