2ltr water a day

I’ve made a really big effort over the last 10 days to start drinking more water (to aid my weight loss). I’m drinking 2 litres a day, but I feel so bloated and look heavier than ever 🤦‍♀️. Will this pass (quite literally!) ? Everyone says drinking water by the gallon aids weight loss but I just can’t understand how because I look so “full”. Anyone explain the science please??

You might just be a bit puffy because of the hot weather? My fingers are looking bloated in the heat (probably the rest of me too 😂)

@WildCherryBlossomi live in the north of Scotland, it’s sadly far from hot up here!

I don’t think you specifically need 2 litres of water. A lot of fluid in take is to do with not much science. You will get some fluid from food and anything you drink counts towards your total. I haven’t drunk water in months.

a good indication of hydration is the colour of your pee, how is that doing?

@FurForksSake What do you drink in lieu of water?

FurForksSake · 01/07/2025 20:15

well, I have sensory issues so fizzy drinks! Sugar free ones. But I’ve lost weight drinking it, so water isn’t magic :)

Add in a sachet of electrolytes to one of your litres every day; potassium, sodium, magnesium. That helps with water balance and the passage of water in your cells and also helps it taste nice (if a bit salty)

I'd give it another week, you should notice a weightloss by then.
