Just that really - I’m starting today and would appreciate company and tips on the journey.

I have a couple of big events in June and July and am hoping for good results!

I am 49, went up 2 sizes with peri and easily have 10kg to lose.

I'm almost 3 weeks in. The Facebook group Friends doing HBD is really helpful for food ideas because the recipe book can be confusing at times.

Thanks @poppybuttons I’ve found that group and joined it!

how are you getting on? I’m finding it hard to know what to do with veg / salad if no dressing. I made the pesto with ACV, maybe I pour that in everything?

do you just have boiled “sautéed” veg?

Yes for Phase 2 I had veg sautéed in stock (shop bought bone broth) or salad like avocado, tomatoes and basil and lots of salt and pepper. I did have lemon juice on the protein but not sure if that was correct.
I had chicken, salmon, prawns and crab but the crab didn't fill me up so won't try that again.

Now I can have olive oil it's much better. I struggle with breakfast because yoghurt and fruit (cherries) doesn't fill me up but I often don't feel like 2 eggs. At the end of the evening meal I have an apple, decaf coffee and 2 bits of dark chocolate and that is something to look forward too!

The Facebook group is good, I have searched through the posts for inspiration!

Hi I did this last summer for a couple of weeks then fell off the wagon when I went away. It was a success but I regained the weight. I haven’t gone back to it as I like milk in my drinks too much! I also found the five hour mini fasts between meals trickier than normal IF.

my tips are

  • lentil pasta makes a nice change from a lump of meat or fish and you can have it as your protein with vegetables.
  • tinned mackerel is a really good portion size for breakfast
  • thr frozen stir fry vegetables with nothing added are handy for a convenient easy to measure vegetable portion and they tend to have different veggies depending on the supermarket
  • the packet cauliflower rice (near the microwave rice in supermarket) is also great for an easy veg portion
  • lemon juice is a great swap for things like soy sauce but it counts as a fruit portion
  • i had fruit after every meal and still lost weight - I found it helped a lot.
good luck

Thanks @Clearingaspace these are great tips! Can I have lemon juice in phase 2? I don’t think so. I am having a bit of chopped tomato’s/cucumber to get things a bit juicier!

Mackeral is fab: super light so you can eat loads!

I will try the lentil pasta and cauli rice!

Yes you can! Lemon is allowed squeezed on chicken or fish in phase 2, but it counts as a portion of fruit so you then can’t have any other fruit or your daily apple at that meal.
