Have you tracked how many calories you’ve consumed?

whymewhyme · 17/05/2025 10:22

Keep at it, these things take time

Doggymummar · 17/05/2025 10:24

Losing weight is 80pc diet 20pc excercise. Plus if I walked that much I would be holding inflammation which makes you heavier till is passed. Good for your well being though.

Disheartened89 · 17/05/2025 10:24

Yup, also tracking calories too on an app. I'm not a walker, the walking is new this week. Cut out bread and as much sugar as I can. Im trying to eat clean and fresh

You have to be in a deficit to lose weight. Are you also drinking enough water?
Can you post what you’re eating?

RosyPie6 · 17/05/2025 10:27

If you’re not used to walking your body probably has inflammation which will cause water retention. Stick at it and the scales will drop in a couple of weeks as your body adjusts. Don’t be disheartened

SilenceInside · 17/05/2025 10:29

Weight loss isn’t linear or predictable especially over a short period of time. Keep going with the extra exercise and watching your calories and over time you will see movement on the scales. Try and think of the changes that you’ve made a s permanent lifestyle shift rather than a temporary change that depends on the scales showing the right numbers.

bedtimestories · 17/05/2025 10:30

Are you drinking enough?

Disheartened89 · 17/05/2025 10:37

Probably not drinking enough, will up that for next week. A typical example of food:
B - 100G Total 0%yoghurt with x4 berries (raspberry/blackberry) and teaspoon honey
L - home made salad. 70% low fat salad dressing or scrambled egg (x2 egg with a little butter) on 1 slice toast or 160g cooked bbq chicken on its own
S - x3 butternut squash croquettes (baked) or 1 small plain wrap or pan au chocolate (rare to have the pan)
D - any of the lunch options

Tea - decaffeinated with no sugars almond milk

For weight loss you need to be in deficit but also fuelling your body sufficiently for that exercise! As others have said, your muscles can hold water as inflammation after exercise (up to 2kg), not to mention water retention and weight fluctuations related to menstrual cycle if applicable. As well as tracking your weight, how about tracking measurements, how your clothes feel, and also how you feel in yourself? That will give you a much better picture of your progress.

hby9628 · 17/05/2025 10:57

Keep going! I find when I start exercise my weight loss stalls but when it kick starts it comes off quite quickly. Consistency is key. Don’t give up

HollyBerryz · 17/05/2025 11:05

It's only been a a week give it time. I don't see any results until wk 2

Silverfoxlady · 17/05/2025 14:33

That food sounds great. Making me hungry!

Yes, 2L of water needed. I find drinking one glass of water before food and one after helps me eat less.

Also, I find that tracking how far I walk and seeing if there is any change helps. I had one week where I was walking an hour, and it didn’t do anything so I increased it to 1.5 hours and I lost a pound a week. Lots of walking but fun with an audiobook or music.

Good luck.

Silverfoxlady · 17/05/2025 14:38

Sorry, I only just read you walked 40 miles! Forget above - much more than 1.5 miles. I would be knackered.

YYURYYUCICYYUR4ME · 17/05/2025 14:45

Feeling better? More toned? Muscles firmer? The scales are part of a story, but not all. Keep it going, great for blood pressure, hormones too.

Hobbes8 · 17/05/2025 14:51

How much do you weigh now? People are responding as though you need to lose, but the extremely low cal diet you have posted (4 berries?) suggests quite disordered eating.
