I have a treadmill, it bores me. I feel like a bloody heffalump panting away on it for a whole 5 minutes before I give up.

Anyone got any hints for keeping myself amused on it, besides the good old iPod?

If anyone has any good 'toning' exercises that I can do at home, feel free to post them too!

I really want this to work this time, but I just find everything so bloody dull

could you go running outside and have some scenery to look at?

you are welcome to join us here on the very first post there is a link to a podcast where you learn to do 5Km in 9 weeks!

Agree with Furball, I love outside running, what you see on your run definately keeps you entertained.

For toning, I am doing press ups at the moment, with hands on 2nd stair up, and feet on the floor, which is a gentle (? ) way to start.

Most motivating thing I've found is to have a program that gradually ups the excercise each week, like the one on the 5km thread. I was really motivated by the achievement of getting further each week, and that really helped me push myself.

I've gone from being someone who hated exercise, to now really loving my 3 runs a week, and thinking of them as me-time.
