May, nice and easy four pounds

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 01/05/2025 17:33

Anyone fancy joining us for a goal to loose 4lb in May?

Throughout March and April a few of us found that no matter what the end goal is that by breaking this down into smaller 4lb monthly chunks, it has been much more manageable (and less scary).

We all had different ways to reach our goal and different end goals.

We are a supportive bunch!

Anyone interested in focusing on 4 lbs?

Lots of great losses!

So weighed in this morning...down 1 lb. Finding it really hard to shift any weight at all post menopause. A stone to lose at least so really need to stay motivated.

Good luck all!

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 13/05/2025 07:34

@Neddevine that fantastic!

I’m in Peri and was on medication that increased my appetite so the mix of the two made it really hard to lose anything. I am worried that it’s going to get harder hence wanting to tackle it now.

I’m down a pound this morning from the start of the month although last week I put on 1.5lbs so down 2.5 this week from last week!

I’m definitely feeling the benefit of being back at the gym too. Just have to sort my movement for the rest of the day out. My steps can be shockingly low!

@Neddevine, losing weight post menopause is really hard so a pound down is great! Slow and steady is the way.

I’m on a cruise so not weighing but have been to the gym every day and am being mindful of my diet so fingers crossed, not too much damage on return😩

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 13/05/2025 19:25

@Doyouthinktheyknow Thats amazing that you are on a cruise and working out, I would be a sloth!

Well as I’m now off mounjaro after 6 weeks- I will be joining you ladies - still aiming at 4lbs before the end of the month - I’m in the cal counting mindset after MJ so am doing 1100 a day Sunday to Thursday and 1400 a day Friday/sat to allow for wine! Plus 2 dance classes a week - just started this week - need to lose 3 and a half stone -I’m 10lbs down in last 6 weeks so that kicked me off ok

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 13/05/2025 20:57

That’s amazing @Crikeyalmighty . keep at it!

@Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth thank you lovely - I wasn’t really losing any faster than I know I can do when I put my mind to it - with the added bonuses of a big dent in bank balance and chronic heartburn - so back to old fashioned hardcore it is!!

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 13/05/2025 21:52

Oh dear! Worth a try though!

I've lost .6kg since last Friday, although I've gone up .1kg today. Still have .7kg to lose to get back to April's lowest weight. I seem to be going through a sticky phase as keeping to cals, walking and gyming. Very easy to get frustrated!

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 14/05/2025 16:48

Still a loss @YourOnMute ! Well done!

I’m going for a long walk after work to get rid of stress and hopefully burn some calories! If not I might solve my problems with pizza and wine!

Hlglu56 · 16/05/2025 15:06

2lbs down this week. Take away and Prosecco tomorrow night though but you’ve got to have some treats.

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 18/05/2025 07:30

Well done @Hlglu56 !

My scales have run out of batteries so need to replace them!

I’ve been off work all week with bad back so exercise nil. Don’t think weigh in will be goods news. Encouraging to read of others successes though!

YourOnMute · 20/05/2025 10:04

Hope you get better soon @Headstarttohappiness .
Well done @Hlglu56 .
Well yesterday I was delighted as I continued to lose weight slowly; was .3kg away from my lowest weight.
Up again almost a kilo this morning 😂😂. Still down overall but bloody hell!
I did have a can of lager but stuck to my cals and plenty of walking and gym.

Crikeyalmighty · 20/05/2025 15:28

@YourOnMute I don’t know what it is but I can be in defecit including any alcohol and yet I put weight on every time if I have a drink ‘at all’

YourOnMute · 20/05/2025 21:45

I haven't drank since Easter! I drink infrequently. Must watch that @Crikeyalmighty

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 21/05/2025 07:21

@Headstarttohappiness hope you feel better soon!

@YourOnMute I bet it’s gone again by tomorrow!

I’m another pound down this week. It’s definitely slower as I get closer to my goal but that 3lbs in total this month (16 since I started in March) so far and only 2lbs to go.

Neddevine · 21/05/2025 09:53

I'm down another pound...really didn't think that I had lost any more so really pleased with that! Hoping to lose a bit more before the end of the month...not sure I'll reach 4 lbs though!

Well done to everyone...bit by bit is definitely helping me!!

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 23/05/2025 06:00

Well done @Neddevine

Weighed in today; I’ve put on 2lbs! Not what I wanted to see but I feel really bloated this week and did eat a whole bag of Squashies to myself last night so can’t say I’ve eaten the best.

We go on holiday on Sunday so I definitely won’t lose anything next week. I am going to try and not go overboard and then start back on it when I get back, ready for my next holiday at the end of July.

YourOnMute · 23/05/2025 22:09

Well done everyone!
@Hlglu56 don't think about it too much. Might be a combination of things. Especially water retention.
Well I'm losing very very slowly. I won't be losing any weight in May from the looks of it but might get back to my lowest weight. That's the aim.

Doyouthinktheyknow · 25/05/2025 16:12

Well done everyone for sticking with it, there are always ups and downs with weight loss!

Just checking in, returned safely from our cruise and 3lbs down so the gym and restraint around the endless supply of food worked😂

I did eat lots of lovely food including pastel del nata in Portugal but much more mindfully and I did continue my fasts. Loved the gym which was only 2 flights of stairs above our cabin, shame it’s not the same at home😂

I did have a couple of falls while away and have a back injury which hopefully is slowly healing. I bashed my big toe up pretty badly but thankfully it isn’t broken.

I’m officially 2 stone down as of today and only have a few more pounds to go to meet my goal which is just under 11 stone. I feel so much better about myself and seeing photos of our last holiday in January compared to now really brought it home to me how different I look!

Ameliepoulainandthephotobooth · 27/05/2025 07:59

@Doyouthinktheyknow I’m glad that you had a good holiday, amazing work sticking to the exercise and fasts! Sorry that you are injured! Well done on the 2 stone!

I was away at the weekend. Ate well and walked lots but drank lots too so going to leave it a few days before checking my weight! Before going I was 1.5lbs off my goal but I’ve a feeling that I might be a couple of pounds of pure alcohol up! Lots of water and a few sweaty gym visits and hopefully I’ll be back where I was! My legs and stomach are showing the most changes.

Weighed this morning...no loss but no gain either! Will take that but need to be stricter now the BH weekend is over.

June is coming around too fast but will just keep chipping away!
