Two week blast.

I'm starting a two week WL blast tomorrow. I'm mainly starting this thread to keep myself accountable but anyone joining?

I'll weigh myself in the morning to see the damage of my fortnight off work 😬

Then I'm on 1000 - 1200 per day for a fortnight, no puddings, no alcohol, no snacks.

I'm a regular gym-goer anyway so will keep that going too.

I might join you…? Do you have much weight to lose?

BreathingIn · 27/04/2025 16:28

I'll weigh myself tomorrow morning to know for sure.

I reckon I'll have about 8lb to lose total with the aim for 4-5lb in the fortnight.

How abou you, @Autumnleaves82 ?

I’m in! My weight has been creeping up again over the past 6 weeks, so some accountability would be good! I’m back to tracking calories on MFP and off the snacks.

HettyCletter · 28/04/2025 20:11

Can I join you, please? I’ve been burying my head in the sand about my weight for months and with the weather warming up I’m having to confront the reality that I can’t hide in baggy jumpers and layers for much longer!

I need to lose 2 stone overall… will aim for 5lb in the next 2 weeks.

ExemplaryVegetable · 28/04/2025 20:38

I would love to join too - I started today and am aiming for 8lbs over 5 weeks, so 4lbs in the first fortnight would be ideal.

I’ve drunk loads of water today, walked 10k steps and tried to cut down on snacking. I’m starving hungry but I’m ok with that overnight. TBF it’s much better when the sun is out!

BreathingIn · 29/04/2025 14:54

Hi everyone!

Welcome!

Sorry I'm only just updating.

Yesterday morning I was 54.4kg (8st 8lbs). I'm five feet tall so my ideal weight is about 8st. So, 8lbs to lose.

I'm hoping to lose 4lbs in my two week blast.

Yesterday - 1,100 calories, no snacks, no puddings, no alcohol. I went to a 45minute circuits gym session - 15minutes of hellish cardio and 30 minutes of strength training.

Today - I'll be on 1,200 calories by the end of the day. No snacks so far, no puddings, no alcohol. No gym today though.

Good luck everyone!!

Hi @BreathingIn It sounds like you’ve had a really successful first 2 days. Well done. Would you mind sharing what you’ve eaten the last 2 days? What’s your weekly exercise routine?

It’s really helpful for me to hear from someone with similar goals to me. I weighed 8st12 yesterday and my aim is also around 8st. I generally eat a healthy diet, walk around 20,000 steps a day and do Caroline Girvan workouts at home, but I’ve gained around a stone over the last year. I’m finding it so hard to lose, so would love to get some tips from someone who has a similar goal weight to me.

ExemplaryVegetable · 30/04/2025 11:44

Good morning everyone- hope you are all smashing this and perhaps already seeing some results!

I am not calorie counting but putting effort into meal planning (including snacks) and trying to eat very mindfully. I think a little bit of bloat has gone from my stomach so am trying to concentrate on how that feels. I’m going on a long walk in a bit (before it gets too hot) so that will help my step count. Will report back…

Sure thing!

Breakfast has been bran flakes and a cup of tea with oat milk.

Lunch has been a chicken wrap with a dusting of mature cheese, with an undressed salad of spinach, peppers and carrot. Lunch options might also be tinned fish and crackers, eggs, leftovers. All with undressed salad.

Tea Monday was wholemeal pasta with tomato sauce (puree, garlic, salami, cheese). Tea on Tuesday was salmon fillet, pesto pasta (homemade), green beans. Tonight it'll be tofu chilli and rice.

No puddings. No snacks. But about six cups of tea a day 😬

My exercise routine is a bit like this but varies week to week:
Monday: 45-minute circuit class combining cardio, strength and conditioning.

Tuesday: Nothing.

Wednesday: 45-minute Hyrox class but not as mental as you see online. Basically a quite intense circuits class.

Thursday: 30-minutes weight training.

Friday: 45-minutes boxing and weights training.

Saturday: 90-minutes one-on-one boxing/MMA training.

I walk the dog every day but she's old and slow so it doesn't really count as 'exercise'.

Morning all.

I was absolutely starving after my Hyrox class last night so ended up having an extra bowl of bran flakes after tea, taking calories to about 1,300. Ooops.

Today is:
Bran flakes and oat milk for breakfast - 100 cal.
Chicken wrap for lunch - 350 cal.
Salmon, rice and green beans for tea - 600 cal.

I've discovered the joys of an afternoon sparkling squash for keeping hunger at bay. Lovely stuff.

Sadly, no weight training today because I've a clashing meeting.

I went to the pub for drinks and dinner last night, so fasted a bit today to hopefully balance that out! Have been for a run today too. I find weekends tricky but I will try to make some better choices over the next few days.

ExemplaryVegetable · 01/05/2025 20:17

I also had a couple of drinks last night - within the calories that I was trying for but it does generally make me hold onto weight.

I’ve eaten well today: loads of raw veg, houmous, olives, roast salmon and so on, so still hoping to be 1lb down tomorrow 🤞🏻

ExemplaryVegetable · 01/05/2025 20:18

Also my step count is currently 10,700 despite sitting at my desk for a few hours, which I am pleased about. I still have to walk to the polling station, which will add a bit!

BreathingIn · 02/05/2025 07:29

Great work everyone!

I'll weigh myself Saturday morning and see what's happening.

Today's hopefully going to be another good day, food largely the same as yesterday though not sure what's for tea. Boxing class tonight so I might have to have a bit extra later to recover!

Weekends can be really tough. I'm going to allow myself a pudding on both nights - about 250 calories. But otherwise just keeping food normal.

Yesterday was a good day for me! Today I’m hoping to stay within my calories but we always have pizza and a movie on a Friday. I think I’ll add some veggies. I’ve realised as well I cannot control myself with the popcorn 😂
Hope weigh ins go well for everyone!

@BreathingIn What pudding will you have? I’ve been having Greek yogurt with berries and some crumbled biscoff biscuits as a “cheesecake bowl” tastes good and not too bad for you!

Just before I came on here, I text DP to say I've made the executive decision that its pizza tonight 😅
Half a pizza and lots of salad is only 500 calories so that's fine.

For pudding, I'll get a couple of chocolate bars I think. I might go for maltesers.

Your cheesecake bowl sounds absolutely amazing. Do you use frozen or fresh berries?

OP posts:
GrannyClanger · 02/05/2025 13:20

Haha great minds! You need something low effort for a Friday night.

mmm Maltesers. I’m definitely going to treat myself to some Easter chocolate later.

I normally use frozen berries but made into a compote with some chia seeds. Now we’re getting nearer fresh strawberry season I will probably switch to those! Hoping for a good crop from my own strawberry plants too.

Have you got plans for the long weekend?

BreathingIn · 02/05/2025 15:25

That sounds amazing, I'm going to give it a go, maybe next weekend.

Unfortunately I'll be working Sunday and Monday because I've a couple of tasks that need to be done by Tuesday and I've had tradesmen here all week so I've not managed to get them done. Never mind, it'll be working at home in my trackies so could be a lot worse 😅

What about you, any plans?

OP posts:
BreathingIn · 03/05/2025 11:12

400g (0.8lb) down this morning! Pretty good for five days!

OP posts:
BreathingIn · 08/05/2025 08:12

Another 0.5kg down yesterday. So nearly 1kg off in a just over a week!

I'll admit I allowed myself to relax a bit yesterday- a couple of biscuits and crisps with my sandwich at lunch. But I did a Hyrox class so maybe that's neutral 😐

Onwards and upwards!

Hope everyone else is doing well.

OP posts:
GrannyClanger · 09/05/2025 09:45

I’ve got to admit things are not going as well for me! I have kept up with my exercise but meals haven’t been as healthy as they could be. Aiming to get some meal prep done over the weekend and have more of a plan for next week.
Sounds like you are making great progress @BreathingIn!
