Losing weight but not losing enough tummy

I’ve lost a fair amount of weight but not enough around my stomach. I can’t exercise due to long covid. Despite now being in a healthy weight range, my waist is still big because of the fat around it. Does anyone have any tips for losing that? I’m probably only now 1-2kg off my perfect weight and wondering whether it’s those last kilos that would be lost there!

If you keep going your body will then move to that source of fat. Its the hardest to loose as bodies tend to prefer a fat reserve here so will loose weight in arms/legs first but leave the waist/belly. Keep going and it'll start to find off there too

How much weight have you lost? I truthfully think, if it was a significant amount of weight loss then sometimes there will be a lot of excess flesh that only surgery will remove.

You can't choose where to lose fat from unfortunately, and exercise won't make any difference to that. If you lose more fat, some will go from your tummy.

Thanks all. I will just keep persevering! It’s not a significant amount of weight this time (about 6kg) but that’s after stalling for around 6 months at a certain weight after losing 10kg. So 16kg in total but over a few years.

Watching this thread with interest as despite having lost 7 stone (with another 3 to go) I still have a flabby stomach. Can definitely pinch more than an inch! I think some of it is excess skin,but there's not much I can do about that!

I lost over 50lbs, am at a really healthy weight and fitting in size 10, some 8s, but still have belly fat. And probably some skin. I really dont want to get slimmer overall but would love not to have the rolls when I sit down but don't know if they will ever go. I'm exercising alot, heavy weights, some cardio, lots of walking. But don't know how much impact that will have if I am not in a calorie deficit?
