WW filing for bankruptcy

So it’s been in the news the last few days that WW are preparing to file for bankruptcy due to profit loss from people using weight loss injections.

our leader has said it’s fake news and they aren’t going bankrupt 🤔

I wonder what the likelihood of it being true is

It’s WW International in the US rather than the UK company, but the Wall Street Journal reported it this week, from unnamed information sources who are apparently insiders in the know. Still in negotiations and not what WW International want, but apparently it looks likely to be the outcome.

I thought the uk ww was also owned by the US company, so i would imagine they would both go if one is going?

I think that’s a question for an international bankruptcy law expert! I guess it might depend on how they are structured and what the outcomes of the negotiations are. But it does seem that the US company is most certainly in trouble even if the current discussions don’t result in bankruptcy.
