How to navigate the 5 day pre-menstrual carb frenzy

Every single month, from about day 26 of my cycle, I am an unstoppable carb monster. I’m on HRT, I exercise, I look after myself all month and then for 5 days I just eat and eat and eat. It’s getting worse as I’m getting older. How do others navigate this?

I suppose put it in your diary so you don't fall into it accidentally.

Make sure that the carbs you have access too aren't too bad. So instead of eating a whole white processed loaf, buy a nice sourdough and have it with avocado instead of butter. Similar calories but lots more fibre and nutrients.

Dont buy crisps. Make sure you have dark chocolate in the house. I like the 90% from Waitrose.

I'm also on HRT and also still have cycles despite the mirena. In fact I told teen DC today that I was feeling hormonal and like I had PMT after I was super grumpy.

I have very regular cycles now even on HRT. I get like a mini pmt when I ovulate and then from about day 26. It’s the insatiable cravings I really struggle with. If I thought I could eat sourdough and avocado and be satisfied I would, but I’d continue to crave carbs carbs carbs. I’m not really into crisps but any chocolate/biscuits/sweets etc and it doesn’t matter if it’s things I like or not. Honestly, I’m like a woman possessed. And then after about 4-5 days, overnight it just all disappears and all cravings just stop.

I know the feeling. I can't seem to stop myself either!
Only thing that helped me was perimenopause and getting off the hormone rollercoaster.

@thenewaveragebear1983 i think it does get better though! Ive def been struggling lately as (sorry if TMI) ive come on 3 times in the last month, so 3 lots of PMS😬. Ive eaten so many carbs!
But in general the cravings are def going away and I've lost over 100Ibs coz that obsessive need to stuff my face is going.
