Monjaro loss

I’ve been taking monjaro now for 8 weeks and lost 21 lbs in total. Would you see that as good? I’ve just started the 7.5mg dose this week.

Yes that's a good loss. I've lost the same in about three months but have not been bale to increase dose as I'd have liked due to side effects so stuck on 5mg .

Thank you. I basically lost 13 lbs in the first 4 weeks then it seemed to slow down. But I’m happy with the loss just don’t want it to slow down too much. Hope you manage to curb those symptoms.

well it’s more than 2lbs a week. I’d like to ask why you wouldn’t consider that good as presumably under any other diet that would be seen as a really good rate.

Wildbird73 · 11/04/2025 08:59

Just asking that’s all. And I didn’t say that I considered not good. Just wanting to get a feel for my progress.

She knows it's good. People just like to fish for compliments so people praise them for their weight loss.

Well that’s not very nice. That was not my intention. I had quite a big loss then it slowed down maybe that should have been my question as to if that was normal.

I'm not saying it's a bad thing! I'm also on Mounjaro and love sharing my losses with DH, makes me feel good and motivated to hear how well I'm doing.

So after your initial 4 weeks you have averaged 2lb a week which is a completely normal and healthy loss.

tbh any loss is good. A lot of the Mounjaro ‘community’ are obsessed with losing 4/5/6 pounds a week and eating as little as possible. That’s disordered eating.

if you eat healthy meals and lose 1/2 pounds a week you are doing it right.

Divebar2021 · 11/04/2025 17:02

I wasn’t trying to dig the OP out with my comment.. I’m interested because there seems to be a huge amount of disordered eating that’s running in parallel with the rise of weight loss injections. I have never in my life lost more than a pound a week regularly when dieting and haven’t been able to sustain diets for months and months. I saw a video online which was diet related ( not MJ related) where the comments were horrific regarding their hopes for their final weight - 37kg to 45kg because they wanted their body to be “snatched” (awful)

Op: It would be worth having a look at the long running Mounjaro threads to see how your weight loss compares to others who started around the same time as you. Some people will have lost more, some less. Some will have started at a higher weight, some lower, that has an effect on how much weight loss is possible too.

Whatever, I think you have done really well and you should be proud of that.

Thank you
