I’m still losing weight and don’t want to.

How first world problem is this?

I can’t stop losing weight. I don’t think it’s an illness.

About 6 months ago I started WW’s, and a full on exercise routine including running (3 sessions a week, half marathon training), yoga (twice a week) and 2 x 1- hour weight training. I reached goal weight, and I’m now in maintenance mode which means I get to eat more.

I can’t really eat more, and I don’t want to eat the food I used to, which made me 2 stone overweight. So, I reached goal weight of 65kg, but then decided to go to 63 kg. It’s been heading down from here gradually and last week I lost another kilo and I’m now 60kg and have lost 15kg hen I wanted to lose 12 kg.

I feel this is a bit too thin for me. A size 10 is now a bit big on me.

This is my typical days eating now and I’m still losing weight.

Breakfast: Porridge with banana, blueberries and skimmed milk, or peanut butter on sourdough and banana, or 2 poached eggs on sourdough. 3 flat whites with skimmed milk

lunch at work: chicken/ turkey or tofu with salad leaves, tomato, kimchi, low fat crisps/ chips and a mug of miso soup. Then fruit. I’m literally eating for 30 mins.

lunch at home: tortilla and some protein and salad, or e.g. lentil casserole with sausage and veg

Snack: skyr and fruit or cheese and apple, more fruit

Dinner: usually a big dinner. For example, steak and chips, chicken casserole, salmon and legumes and veg. Usually a protein, veg and carbs.

In addition I’ll have the odd glass of wine, squares of dark chocolate and eat my height in satsumas.

I don’t want to go below 60kg as this is venturing back into my teenage weight.

I think I’m eating a lot, but am getting a bit worried that I’m still losing.

Any critique on what I’m eating? I don’t want to drop my exercise down as I’m the fittest I’ve ever been.

Also, I’m officially post menopausal. So, no more PCOS which loaded the weight onto me in the first place.

Personally I wouldn’t worry about it. I have reached my goal and even though I haven’t changed anything I now fluctuate up and down 3 or 4 lb’s. I suspect you will slow down the weight loss shortly and reach equilibrium and if you don’t go out for a Chinese or a curry once week and enjoy.

You eat lovely food. I’d add in a bit of fat eg make your porridge with full fat milk, have some olive oil on your salad. You could also have sourdough and butter or cheese instead of low fat chips for lunch?

Thanks

When I say chips, I mean lentil, hummus or chickpea chips, not “chips”, which would be a bit mad with my salad 😜

The thing is, I now hate the taste of full fat milk or even semi skimmed. I might swap it out with almond milk and full fat Greek yoghurt.

A few people have commented on me being too thin which I don’t like.

Id try adding abit more fat into your diet too. Avocado, some nuts or I love abit of tahini drizzled over my dinner (although Im still losing so am avoiding it for now).

I knew what you meant with the chips!

greek yogurt a good shout. You probably only need about 200 cals more per day to maintain rather than lose slowly, so a few small changes should do it

Have you been to the doctors to check everything’s ok?

Jurassicparkinajug · 11/06/2025 07:53

As others have said, add in some healthy fats, nuts/ avocado/ extra virgin olive oil. How much exercise are you currently doing? I’m concerned you are losing weight continuously. Unintentionally weight loss is a red flag so you should go to your GP. Any change in bowel habit or any odd pains anywhere?

knitnerd90 · 11/06/2025 07:57

Agree to check with your GP but as the parent of an underweight child, the easiest way to up calories is to whack some more fats in everything. I'd say the work lunch is probably a little lower calorie than ideal, if you're still losing.
