Slimpod

Hi, regular Mumsnet follower here. I’m a little surprised that on this particular weight loss topic/chat I see very little mention of Slimpod, designed by a Weightloss Consultant and marketed as way to lose the “diet head” mentality which makes us lose and gain weight over and over again…… any experience or views?

I signed up for the free trial and then forgot to cancel so am now fully committed 🤣 I wanted something to help with my after dinner chocolate snacking which has become a really ingrained habit that I can’t break.

I’m not sure how I feel about it yet. The ‘pod’ is quite simplistic/ monotonous - i get it’s supposed to work on the unconscious but it just feels a bit … meh. I don’t tend to watch the videos as it’s all things I already know.

So I guess it feels like I’m basically paying a fair bit of money for an 8 minute recording that doesn’t appear to be doing much. They say there’s science behind it but it all feels a bit wishy washy. I don’t really see how a video basically saying ‘you now want to have better habits, tell your unconscious mind you want to be slimmer’ is going to cut it 😬

First few days I did feel I was recognising being full more quickly and found it a bit easier not to snack. But perhaps that was an initial placebo effect as I’m not really noticing any changes now…

tbf there is a 30 day money back guarantee (I think!)

I tried it. Found it boring and a bit of a rip off if I’m perfectly honest.

I used it, I lost about a stone ( I had about 2 stone to lose) in 4 or 5 months. I didn't do all the things it suggests in the videos but did listen to the pods every day. It definitely helped me stop my chocolate biscuit habit. I still listen to the pods when I'm going to sleep at night because they have trained my brain to go to sleep when I hear them. So I think it's worth it for the better sleep! I think I could have lost more weight/ingrained some better habits if I'd actually done all the things suggested to support the process.
