It’s just so SLOW

Hi all

I’m in the process of losing weight for the second time after my second baby!

After my eldest, 5 years ago, I lost 5 stone in a little under a year but eating low carb and walking min 10k steps per day.

Gained a huge chunk back in second pregnancy in 2023, and I’ve found with breastfeeding this time (and looking after 2 kids) low carb isn’t an option, neither is 10k steps every single day.

Anyway, I’ve been on and off “dieting” since Jan but committed to it 10/03, calorie counting 1,600 a day max, and min 10k steps 5 days a week trying for 6.

I’ve lost just over 9lbs, which is steady and consistent weekly but so slow compared to the losses I saw when I was extreme
dieting in the past (under 1,000 or just that usually.) I have another 2 stone to lose.

It looks like I will reach my goal (68kg) by August/September.

Anyone else taking the long route? With the 1 and 5 year old I am at max effort really!

Wow re the first loss... suppose that the fact it didn't stay off suggests that the slow way might be better? Well done on the 9lbs, esp if you only committed yesterday? 😉

Hahaha! Since 10/01 🙂

I reckon had I not seen pregnancy as an excuse to indulge, I’d have been able to… but, I did. 😄
