8 weeks until dream holiday diet

8 weeks today we are off on a group holiday to Barbados. Nobody with kids (we are TTC) so we've gone for a gorgeous tranquil airbnb - sunset coctails on the balcony vibes

I am desperate to lose some weight. Up until a couple of years ago I was an 8 and now a 12 (I am 5'1 so being a size 12 makes me definitely overweight)

I've bought some amazing dresses (Nadine Merabi, Self-Portrait and even a vintage Dior) from vinted and 8 weeks is definitely long enough for them to comfortably fit - sure I'd love to be back down to size 8 but I bought everything to fit a 10 as that's far more realistic and achievable in 8 weeks.

The past 2 weeks me and DH have started jogging and meal planning. As we are also TTC this lifestyle change will hopefully do us the world of good.

I'm going to use this thread to log and delicious and nutritious recipes I find, as well as any fitness milestones

Anyone care to join and share their journey?

Morning jog done ✅️

Made cuban prawn pasta for lunch loaded with finley chopped asparagus, sprouting broccoli and cherry tomatoes ✅️

Dinner will be roast lamb and mashed potato but again I'll load up my plate with vegetables and have a sensible portion

intermittent fasting! 18:6 - good luck!

igotbills · 11/03/2025 18:23

Today I did some strength training and had some protein heavy but low cal meals ☺️

Also TTC and I need to get my BMI right down so I have no choice, but have to do it so I'd like to join in!

Have taken my weight today. DH is on board, so we're going to weigh in on a Saturday. I'm going to increase my exercise too, but I'm not a jogger 🤣

Go hard out for a week or two, drop a couple of kilos to give you the taste for skinny :)

I did high protein, low carb, no sugar combined with intermittent fasting and dropped a kilo a week. It’s doable :)

igotbills · 12/03/2025 10:46

@nnzeire it's always so tempting to crash diet for a week or so just to see a big drop in the scales isn't it!

Today I've made a lovely filled omelette for breakfast (peppers, courgette, tomatoes and mushrooms)

I've found a new recipe to try for dinner which is cod fish on a bed of creamed green vegetables

Probably won't get in a jog today but seeing a friend tonight so will walk (about 40 mins)

Also ttc and started healthy eating and gym both for a bit of weight loss and also fertility

would be keen to keep each other going

this week I’ve done body pump and metafit classes and a cardio workout at home.
Breakfast- porridge with a banana
lunch- homemade burgers and veg
dinner- Greek yogurt, berries, seeds
snacks- cashews and 3 oranges

I don’t calorie count as I get obsessed. I plan on having either porridge or seeded bread on work out days and low carb on rest days and see how I go. Sometimes I love a bit of toast and peanut butter

@2025babyfever

Thank you for joining! Had a slight set back this weekend (friend celebrating a big promotion so invited us out for some cocktails to celebrate - which led to ordering pizzas) I say slight because the scales are already back on track 👍

I'm only really aming for a calorie deficit of 200-300 calories per day (as well as exercise)
Going slow and steady, in 2 months I'm sure I'll see a difference in both the waistline and overall health for the holiday☺️

Hit a new jogging milestone yesterday, it's so encouraging that every time I do it I can get a little bit further each time

I’m trying 2 days of fasting per week now too
i weighed in the other day and I’m 11 stone! Heaviest I’ve been in a while- I’m 5’2 so that’s pretty big for me
hoping to see a shift in scales in next week or 2 🤞🏻

igotbills · 27/03/2025 20:39

@2025babyfever I'm also 5'2 and I'd love to get down to 9 stone again - think I'm about 10 and a half

I've kept up with the jogging and really feel myself getting fitter 😄

I'm at a party the weekend after next and hoping my dress zips up just a little easier by then

I’m doing absolutely rubbish so far I don’t know about you?!
Regularly going to gym and classes but my eating is so bad- could be so much better
