Am struggling a little lately and I don't do Facebook anymore so was hoping maybe a little support group here might be a good thing?

Was hoping you had a response, here for the same thing.

Had it done in 2018. Ask me anything xx

mazzer82 · 03/11/2025 18:36

Had it done in Turkey 2022. Best thing I ever did

WildUnknown · 03/11/2025 18:50

I had one nearly 4 weeks ago, struggling with the pureed stage. Definitely would welcome a support thread.

Absolutely. I know everyone has different experiences but I agree with you. It was 5 star treatment. I am going back next year for some skin removal etc. I was treated so good, they came to me whenever I needed, super clean, I felt really safe with them.

I'm a year post op and things have really stalled. I know i've let silly snacks slide back in. Need to have a word with myself! Could do with another 1.5 stone off ideally.

WildUnknown · 04/11/2025 11:57

@outnumbered77 Can I ask just how much weight you have lost in a year?? It’s early doors for me and I’m not noticing a huge difference yet

Mollydoggerson · 04/11/2025 12:00

It doesn't last, over time it's easy to snack and the weight comes back. Not worth the risk.

Stomach stretches over time. We all need to control our own diets and be mature about healthy foods.

outnumbered77 · 04/11/2025 12:10

@WildUnknown I’ve lost 3.5 stone and really had 5 to lose. Lost most in first six months. No regrets. I couldn’t have done it without the op and it’s quite easy to maintain at this weight

WildUnknown · 04/11/2025 12:12

Molly

This is a fledgling SUPPORT thread for those that have gone ahead and had it done, so whilst you’re entitled to your opinion, it’s a bit tone deaf here

WildUnknown · 04/11/2025 12:14

@outnumbered77 I could stand to lose a lot more than that to be honest but I couldn’t have the full bypass for medical reasons

GreenGodiva · 04/11/2025 12:32

I had a broad 12 weeks ago. I am officially 60lb down. It’s been hard though, the recovery was great but my appetite is non existent and the puree state really fucked me over if I’m honest. Now I’m at the point where even chewing normal food makes me want to gag and retch. Very strange. I’m struggling to get my protein in AND get a decent calorie amount. Living on mixed nuts and protein yogurt for breakfast, pepperonis and cheese sticks. Trying to get in 1 small portion of fruit a day and a few small probs of veg soup a week. I eat struggle with roast chicken/beef/pork no matter how much I chew them. My knees are very grateful though and I’ve lost 50% of my excess weight and am way ahead of the plan.

WildUnknown · 04/11/2025 12:52

@GreenGodiva the puréed stage is a nightmare I thankfully only have a week left but it can’t come soon enough

I'm sorry you had a bad experience, that must be really hard. Do you know what the stats on weight gain are?
