Losing weight while breastfeeding

How can I do this without losing my milk supply? I’m hungry all the time! My baby is 5 months and feeding a lot. I run out of milk sometimes.
I am so huge and carrying 3-4 extra stone, it’s making me feel quite low.
Has anyone managed decent weight loss while breast feeding?

Drink plenty of water. It’s water that produces your supply.
Take a multivit (with calcium) and slowly reduce the quantity of food you’re taking in.
have cut up veggies on hand (easily prepped for a week).

It'll get easier when they move onto solids, ebf round the clock makes you ravenous!!!! Cut yourself some slack it's bloody hard going! How is your baby developmentally as they may be showing signs of food readiness a little before 6 months. People get hysterical about waiting until exactly 6 months but most other countries introduce solids a little sooner. Check their readiness theres a checklist online x

You would have to be very seriously malnourished to lose your milk supply, don’t worry. As long as the baby is growing, everything is fine.

I have a 3 month old and I am ebf. I am definitely more hungry than normal but I try to manage this with healthy, reasonable sized meals and 2-3 snacks during the day. I had only a few kilos to lose after birth and managed to offload them slowly. I’m also quite athletic (working out most days) and my little one is definitely not hungry even though I don’t eat all the time.

I post my daily meals on one of the accountability threads, maybe you can find some inspiration there?

My hunger definitely dropped post 6 months, so maybe just try and make as healthy choices as you can but give yourself a bit of flex for the next month or two as it won't be long till baby is eating... And then won't be long until they're a year and not dependent on breastfeeding for nutrition! I haven't lost weight, but haven't put any on because I walk a lot, and generally eat fairly healthy meals. Is there an easy small change you can make first?

I breastfed my daughter and managed to lose weight quite easily. I calorie counted but ate around 2000/2200 (a small deficit for me) a day and the weight slowly but surely slipped off.

I’m ebf my son now though and can’t lose a pound!! I’ve been much more hungry this time and also don’t have the time or energy to calorie count. I’m basically living off processed carbs and sugar. He’s 7 months now and the intense hunger is fading a bit so hoping to get on with calorie counting but again will do a small deficit and just take it slowly.
