Has anyone taken these tablets and do they work?

Why are you considering things like this? Just curious not judging.

survivechuckleshowaffection · 20/02/2025 21:25

Because menopause means whatever I do I'm 20 pounds heavier than I would like to be.

I have them on hand and take them sometimes before a cheat meal,I would say once a week or so. They have been scientifically proven to reduce calories being absorbed. They are not a miracle cure however and can reduce the uptake of important nutrients so they are to be used for a limited time. I only use them for cheat meals or treats like cake, which I might have every week or every two weeks

That's interesting, thank you. I started on them yesterday and I've found that they make me feel full so that can't be a bad thing!
Any side effects to be aware of?

Until people are in this place they'll never get it.

I use orlistat, not every day and not every meal, reduced carbs generally and upping my protein but it's still a struggle. Also psyllium husk helps feeling a bit fuller.

I might look at these too!

Pancakeorcrepe · 22/02/2025 07:35

I didn’t have any side effects. Make sure you drink plenty of water with then because that helps them be more effective.

TitsInAbsentia · 22/02/2025 19:31

The can block the absorption of other medication so if you are on anything else maybe ensure you don't take medication at the same time/around the same time.

Don't forget as well there are studies that say you should start cutting your calories when you hit peri/menopause...sadly the shit deal just continues for us ladies!

Nosebooper · 28/02/2025 01:49

How are you getting on with these?

I'm post menopausal and can't shift the two stone I've put on. I've never considered tablets before, but wondering if it might help.

Are you getting any side effects?

I do take other medication, so would need to time it right.

I always presumed they had to be taken regularly, so interested to note that isn't the case.

I'm taking them once or twice a day and to be honest no change but only been on them a week. No side effects that I've noticed.

Might give them a try as struggling at the moment
