Does ovulation affect weight?

I’m trying to lose half a stone. I’m at BMi 23- my weight has been creeping up and I want to fit better in my clothes again and generally feel better in myself. I’ve always been slim and don’t like the extra weight.

This week I’ve consistently eaten around 1200 calories. I know everyone always says this, but I’m sure it’s accurate, give or take. Have been weighing out food etc.

For example, yesterday I ate:
skyr
air fried salmon fillet, 100g rice, mountain of broccoli
one whole meal pitta, tzatziki, cucumber and a boiled egg
Drinks: one coffee with splash of milk, one berocca, lots of water

Since last week, I’ve lost….. zero. Nothing. Not even water weight.

I think ovulation is imminent. Is this affecting things? Will I see a whoosh soon?

I know I need to chill, but I’ve git an important event soon and I want to feel good about myself.

I don’t know OP but watching with interest as I’m having the same thoughts this morning. On SW, generally successful with it and keeping food diary this week to be extra careful. Generally on a week like this Iv lost 1-2 lb, sometimes 3lb even, but this week nothing and feeling a bit disheartened. Think im around my ov week now (not TTC, just aware as my body makes it obvious 😆)

I always retain water when I'm ovulating. I gain more then than just before my period itself.

Yes it does

Yea that’s exactly it, normally I’d have lost at least one or two pounds. Even if it’s just water weight and not actual fat- it’s still nice to see some sort of reward.

However, it’s reassuring to know this is normal around ovulation time. I’ll keep it up and hopefully feel comfy in my favourite jeans soon!!

I don’t have periods but I still ovulate and I feel gross! Still getting spots and migraines in my 40’s at ovulation and yes weight gain

Yes, I get more bloating during ovulation than before my period. Celery juice is a nice and natural way of reducing bloat.
With regards to your food intake, I noticed that you could perhaps have room to increase your protein?
Skyr does have some protein, salmon too. One boiled egg has very little protein. Increasing protein has really helped me to reduce cravings and my body seems to find it easier to let the weight go. I'm on around 110 grams of protein a day. Depending on the portion of Skyr, you will be getting around 15 grams - probably a bit less. The salmon fillet would be between 25 grams and 35 grams depending on the portion. A boiled egg has around 8 grams protein maximum.

Yes I never loose week of ovulation. But do pre and during period. Have frantically searched before so def happens to some women. I’ve stopped worrying over it finally and know that week I’ll be same or a slight gain
