I've just had an epiphany (or something along those lines)

I was just have a quick clear-out of some clothes and thought I would try on some dresses I haven't worn in a long time, just for a giggle.

I tried on a horrid chinese style dress that I bought about 5 years ago - not good for my huge norks. So that's going to the charity shop.

Then I tried on a lovely Monsoon dress I wore to my friends wedding about 5 months after ds was born. I was a bit miffed it wasn't hanging off me (wedding was almost 2 years ago).

Then it hit me.

I'm fat and I'm the only person that can do anything about it.

I can accessorise until the cows come home, but no amount of chunky beaded necklaces, no matter how funky, will make my jelly belly disappear.

I feel both sad and liberated in a weird sort of way.

Boncing - my diet starts today!

Walked Dss to school in jeans and t shirt - nothing to cover me up and i felt like an elephant!

I was meant to start my diet healthy eating plan 2 weeks ago.

Signed up for weight watchers online and everything thinking that money would be a big enough incentive NOT to pig out.

Stuck to it for about 3 days I think

But, I'm trying to think positively. This morning I was very healthy and put ds on the back of my bike to take him to nursery instead of taking the car. Will collect him on the bike as well.

Just need to stop scoffing nutella on toast and chocolate tea cake thingymajigs .

Need to lose about 3 stone to be ideal weight but a stone would be a fantastic start.

I can, and will do this.

2 and a half stone for me. It's all around my middle really - legs not too bad but i look as if i have several layers of boobs!

Pref two this year and the other half for big family holiday planned next summer - in hot country - now THAT should be incentive enough really.

Good call with the bike. I walked for the first time in ages (it's about 15 mins walk).

It must be the sun LOL!!!

I work from home so it's a case of locking the cupboard or sucking lots of mints for me i think!

bouncingblueberries · 07/05/2008 15:05

I know what you mean Port.

I sometimes work from home - have to lock the cupboard also. But then when I work up in London I just can't resist nipping into M&S for a little treat on the way home, or a pudding to compensate dh for having to drop ds off at nursery or cake to compensate for horrid train journey!!!

I really am my own worst enemy.

Well, no more I say, NO MORE!

Have that song running through my head "enough is enough is enough, dum dum dee dum dum dum dee dum dum dee dum..."

It also doesn't help that my period arrived yesterday, so I'm feeling particularly fat and bloated.

I always use it as an excuse to troff loads of chocolate - whether I'm craving it or not!

Moderation is the key word here I think.
