Good morning girls!

Right now, it seems this thread has waned into one or two posters. I am back now and I've just worked out my BMI hereand was shocked to find I'm only JUST under the obese section so I'm right back on the wagon (grilled chicken anyone?!) SO...who is wholeheartedly with me?

Anyone...one.......one.....?

(Creeps in quietly and very very sheepishly)

Am back from Dublin. Was supposed to start diet again yesterday. Didn't. Was supposed to start today. Guess what? Yup.

Am contemplating Atkins so need to get my head around it and get sorted. It does work for me when I do it and DH likes it too.

DANCESwithLordPottingtonSmythe · 06/05/2008 18:47

YAY! BUDA!

It's great to have a familiar face back, I thought I was alone . I have been utter, utter rubbish and have put back on all the weight I lost after Christmas So now I am back with a new sense of purpose

So you are going to try Atkins?

OP posts:
Buda · 06/05/2008 19:34

Yes - I think so. Have done it before and found that once I get into it I feel great and actually eat more healthily than normal. I don't limit veg intake on it and still lose weight. And DH likes it too which is half the battle.

So risotto for dinner tomorrow night as a last supper and may try to start on Thursday. Although we are out on Sat so make wait till after that.

Glad to see someone still here!

Twiglett · 06/05/2008 19:39

nope, doesn't seem to be here either

DANCESwithLordPottingtonSmythe · 06/05/2008 20:05

Ok new rule no.1 ...

NO MENTION of RISOTTO on here

TWWWWwwwwwwwwwiiiiiiig oh Twwwiiiig

Where's everyone else?!

Good luck with the Atkins Buda. I don't know if I have the willpower for that, am in awe!

Hi. I'm back too. Decided to try my own diet which worked for me before and I have lost 8lbs in three weeks! 2lb the first week then 3lb for each of the subsequent weeks. I have been quite strict during the week, relaxing at weekends (including wine each night at weekends)! I'm delighted.

Buda · 07/05/2008 10:15

Well done dolly! You might have to change your name!

What is your diet?

I have decided that even though I am still trying to decide about Atkins I will not use that as an excuse to eat every carb in sight in the meantime!

So this morning I had cereal for breakfast and have just had a snack of an apple, some cheese and a probiotic drink.

Lunch will be veg and lentil soup and some oatcakes with hummous. Dinner will be salmon, salad and boiled new potatoes.

I will also drink more water. That is a real downfall with me.

bellabelly · 07/05/2008 10:26

[sheepish] I went very off-diet while away for the bank holiday weekend. But am back on the wagon now, hoorah!

I checked out by BMI - thanks for handy link. So when we started back in Feb my BMI would have been 33.3 down to 30.7 - still in the obese category but only by 0.7 so that has cheered me up.

dollydoughnut · 07/05/2008 10:29

Hi Buda. Your diet sounds my sort of thing. Because I can't be bothered measuring food and often had huge bowls of cereal etc I just found I wasn't losing weight that way. What I do (and I know it sounds boring but it works for me and I don't have to think about it) is that I have a Jordan's Honey and Almond Crunchy bar for breakfast with tea. When I come back from dropping kids off at school I have tea and an apple. Lunch at 12(ish) is three Dark Rye Ryvita with cottage cheese with pineapple and an apple. Then for dinner (with the kids at about 4.30) I have whatever they have having but a small portion with tons of salad and an apple. Then a Rice Cake later on. I find that I am always hungry at 4ish and that's why I eat my main meal then because if I wait until later I will blow it. Apples work for me because they fill me up and take a while to eat. At the weekends I eat the same breakfast and lunch and then we cook a really nice dinner later on. Honestly, just try it for a few days and see how you get on. I am totally useless at losing weight normally and have tried EVERY diet and this is the only one that works for me. I think that it the key - finding what works for YOU and being able to stick with it for longer than a couple of days. Last time I tried this I kept the weight off for a long time by sticking losely to it during the week and then relaxing totally at weekends. Put weight on over Christmas and have been too lazy to get it off this time but now only have 7lbs to go. Very long message. Sorry.

Hey MMJ! I've just been shopping and my boobs don't fit into the size I usually wear It's a horrible motivation.

Realistically I know I'm not going to join a gym - I only have a few hours a week without either of my dc and I have other things I need to do then so I've bought a Wii Fit. I know it's not going to get me 'fit' as such but I'm hoping it will start me moving. I don't do ANY exercise at the moment

I had cereal and fruit for breakfast a small portion of pasta with tomato sauce (home made, no fat) and 2 low fat sausages.

Dolly - an early tea does sound like a good idea, round 4 - 5pm is my terrible time too. I do like to eat with dh though so I'm not sure it will work for me.

Good Luck this week everyone
