1980s herbal diet liquid supplement?

Does anyone remember this? In the early 1980s (UK), my mother started using some sort of herbal liquid weight loss supplement which she bought from a sales rep who delivered it to the house. She encouraged me to use it too which I did briefly.

All I remember is that it came in a big white bottle (1L?) but I don’t remember any labelling. It was a pale coloured liquid and it tasted vile, sort of herbal/chemically. It was the same consistency as water, so not a protein shake or anything like that. Can’t remember how often you were meant to take it etc. but it had to be kept in fridge.

I think we both tried it for a couple of months and of course it had no effect whatsoever. I’ve been wracking my brain for years trying to remember what the product was called as I’ve always wondered what the hell it was. Was Herbalife in the UK in early 80s and could it have been an early product?

Does this ring a bell with anyone?

That’s the only one I can think of. It might have been new to the UK then and probably sold on a similar model to Avon products. I know the saleswoman definitely came to our house. Whatever it was, it tasted absolutely rank and of course it had no effect on our weight loss whatsoever.

I’ve just always wondered what it is because it literally could have been any old toxic rubbish 🤮

I would say Forever Living. Aloe based products in a large white container. Rank!

Ooh thank you! I’m going to try and research that one. I think it was aloe based and it was definitely vile tasting. Thanks for the lead!
