Just wondering if anyone has tried these weight loss tablets? And if so, I'd be really appreciative if you would share your experience.

i hjad them many mean years ago.... all they did was give me the squits if i ate anything remotely fatty... and constantly leaking a greasy ornage discharge! it was vile

A friend of mine did many years ago, gave her terrible upset stomach, quite unpredictably, got into a mess

My issue with Orlistat is because I dont personally believe a low fat diet is good for you and you have to stick to low fat to make these work. I believe that leads to a disproporationate amount of carbs and lack of satiety, which leads to a merry go round of feeling hungry, overeating etc etc

My view is that as long as it suits the patient, a lowish carb and high fat and high protein diet is best for nutrition and satiety.

But Im sure there are people who respond well to it. Some people prefer a low fat diet.

Thanks so much for your responses. I've read the reviews and many seem to include the experience of the orange, fatty squits and warning ti never trust a fart 🙈

@mollymazda can I ask how long you stuck with them and whether it helped your weight loss in anyway? Likewise @soupfiend, did your friend lose much weight with them?

They are something I'm vaguely considering. As I understand, if you do stick to a low fat diet then the orange oily stool issue can be negated somewhat. But I'm still concerned, have never tried anything like them before.

My friend came off it in a week or so because she couldnt live with the effects so no, no weight loss on them!

mollymazda · 13/01/2025 11:58

i think i lasted about 2 weeks tops... no weight loss, but my laundry pile grew! its shocking stuff!

if you are really really strict about eating ZERO fatty foods, then you might be ok with the stuff.

I was on them for a bit last year. Absolute awful stomach cramps. Not something I’d ever take again
