Failed my diet

the Renpho scales are broken. I have calibrated it and reset it and it keeps giving me widely different results between 9 and 11 stone. I assume I am fat just by looking at myself. I definitely have excess fat on my legs. It’s only day 3 of the year and I’ve just had a burger and chips with curry sauce an and 3 pakoras. I don’t have takeaways often but I was feeling particularly low today, overwhelmed and dysregulated. I needed the comfort. I also had about half of a large piece of chocolate cake that came with it. Thought it would make me feel better but it’s made me feel worse.
I’m sure all of it must’ve been well over 1,000 calories. I’m 5ft 2. How do I rectify this?

You draw a line, forgive yourself and start again tomorrow x

One meal does not fail your diet. Just make good choices now.

This.
Also try looking at your diet over a week, not one meal/day. As long as you've stuck to your weekly allowance it's a positive result.
If you have a bad day try to see it as a blip not a failure.

An exhausted marathon runner doesn't stop for a rest just before the finish line to only then run back the other way as they 'failed', they catch their breath and still keep going towards the goal.

Slowly but surely there's only one direction it makes sense to go!! Even if there's a setback x

Just get back to normal (balanced, nutritious.......not restricted) eating at your next meal.

Forgive yourself and tomorrow is another day.

Don't give up just because of one meal. We all do it sometimes. Back on it tomorrow.
