I’ve reached goal weight. Now what do I do?

I went on a diet last Sept and took up running and weights. I was near goal weight just before Christmas and thought I’d put on over the season, but I weighed myself this morning and I’ve reached my goal weight and gone a bit further.

Now what do I do? I don’t want to lose anymore as I’m now a size 10 and I think any thinner and I’ll look rough, nor do I want to put it on.

Eat a bit more or do less exercise I would think.

Just have a regular routine so you don't gain weight. Maybe focus on exercise being something more than losing weight etc. Flexibility? Keeping muscles toned as we need good muscle tone when we are older. Or I'd like to be bale to do pull ups or those yoga poses on one hand. Something that's challenging.

This was me when I hit target and then went below it, I was looking a bit too thin at under target so I increased my calorie intake per day and slightly decreased my exercise. I did go back to target quite quickly but now I’m about 1.5 kg over my original target thanks to over indulging recently so I’ll be cutting back on calories from Monday and increasing the exercise again.

Someone else might have a better suggestion but that’s what worked for me

I don’t want to do less exercise. I need the positive endorphins. Plus I want to tone up and I need to train for races.

Eating more it is then.

I think I need a new goal, as this was very much a massive goal for me, to lose 10kg and now I feel a bit lost.

I need to have a think about what that is now. I’m not at my fitness goals. I’m training for a half marathon, and I want to tone up more. I feel that I need to focus on this. I’m not as fit and strong as I want to be.

With the diet, I actually just ate loads healthier including masses of veg and lean protein. I think I need to add in a few more healthy carbs like sweet potato and baby potatoes. I don’t want to eat crap again.

I got to my target last September and Ill be honest, its been really hard maintaining
I seem to be gaining and losing the same four pound all year

But its only a couple of pound either side so its not like Im forever depriving myself or saying no

What Im settling on are 7 days healthy eating, but for three days a week I keep it to below a thousand calories , so its just fruits, veg, protein - I avoid bread, spuds and rice and pasta those days, but will eat beans and lentils

And of course I dont deny myself a night out and a few drinks. Still not fussed on a takeaway, have had a couple but never really enjoyed them so I dont bother with those any more

Its something like 3.5k calories for a pound of fat gain, so if like me , the weight lose was very slow and averaged just a pound a week, thats all I could increase my calories by before I start gaining
