Every single day

I regret my decision to undergo surgery every single day.
I had the gastric sleeve in January 2019. I did loose a lot of weight, about 8 st, I did look better while dressed and I did like myself a tad bit more but that’s about it on the positives.
I have not changed my habits and after a year or so I started slowly creeping them back in. I have acquired acid reflux which requests medication (esomeprazole), I lost a lot of my hair. A lot a lot.
I am constantly tired because of vitamin deficiency. I had gallbladder stones which gave me some of the worst pains of my life, worse than childbirth…which led to a second surgery to remove my gallbladder. I can now not take any codeine as this will cause gallbladder stones like pains as it irritates my oddi sphincter. Taking codeine also increases my chances of developing pancreatitis.

Then in 2021 I got pregnant and couldn’t really control my cravings at all and I gained a lot of weight back. Around 4 st.

If I knew all these would happen to me I would have never chosen to have the surgery. I was not made aware of the acid reflux or gallbladder stones as a possible side effect of the surgery and obviously didn’t do my research properly either.

And again, I have not addressed the core issue of my weight gain …which stems from my brain. An unhealthy relationship with food will not be fixed by any surgeries.

I have no advice in this area, but just wanted to say I'm so sorry you are going through this.
