Want to loose a stone

mumtotwo11 · 30/09/2024 15:43

... but can't seem to motivate myself!

I want to look around a stone to get back to my "happy weight" and drop a dress size.

I keep saying to myself I'll start and then just don't. I end up eating crap.

I know it's not a lot compared to what some people face but I don't like how I look and how my clothes fit.

My plan is to calorie count - make sure I have protein and get some exercise in. I start then just stop. Now the weather is getting rubbish I just want to stay in.

Anyone been in the same boat? Any suggestions? Thanks x

Hey buy a nice dress and motivate your self to get into it, I'm doing IF and finding it easier to stick to, you could have a look into that ?

mumtotwo11 · 01/10/2024 08:19

I thanks - I have a dress I love that I bought just before lockdown that I am trying to get back into ... so far no luck.

I'll look into IF - thanks I've not really tried that before x

Book a holiday!
That’s what I did 😂 8 lb down since booking it at the beginning of September. I’ve been doing IM, low carb and just eating well with two not so good days where I had wine and pizza. I don’t feel deprived.

I love exercise.

mumtotwo11 · 01/10/2024 09:22

I used to love going to the gym etc - right now I just feel anxious about going.

I'd love to book a holiday - my dd is disabled and is due to have likely 2 big surgeries in the next year. She hasn't been well lately so life just kinda stops when her condition flares up.

In the past, I've started to get into a routine then for one reason or the other it gets derailed.

Sorry, it was insensitive of me to write that.

Would an online trainer help?

Would you like a buddy to keep each other on track?

(I want to loose another 6 lbs on top of the 8lb that I’ve lost in the last month).

Oh please don't apologise- you weren't to know.

I'd love to loose the stone by Xmas (or at least some it - so I'd definitely be up buddying up - that's so kind of you to offer.

After I wrote my earlier post I decided to go do a les mills work out ... mid way through builder turned up - I swear the universe is against me 😂 ... I did carry on after he'd been though 👍🏽

Fasting is your friend. I eat in the window of 12-7. I eat whatever I like except sugar. So I will eat bread/pizza/potatoes and stuff. But I do also try to eat well. Just not tiny piddly salad portions iyswim?

Have you found it works?

I’m currently maintaining 9st after losing a stone in the past 2 months.

Putonyourredshoesanddancetheblues · 01/10/2024 11:25

@mumtotwo11 you should have asked the builder to join in 😂

Today is as good as any to start!

I was going to a class tonight but it’s been cancelled so I’m going to do an online hiit class at home instead although I might have to get my steps in at the gym at some point as it’s awful weather! I don’t get enough steps in from my desk 😂

I usually do omad although recently did a couple of 36 hour fasts as I'm prepping for my holiday. Today I’m eating normally before starting another 36 hour hour fast tonight.

Food today will be Greek yogurt with vanilla extract, prawn salad, spinach and tomato omelette.
Drinks are black coffee, herbal tea and 2 litres of water.

Wow that's amazing- I'll definitely look into this more. Do you calorie count at all when doing it?

@Putonyourredshoesanddancetheblues

Yes the weather atm doesn't help. I keep looking at treadmills on marketplace 😬

How does your 36 hour fast work? X

Do you know any big dogs? I have been walking a golden retriever and have lost 3 pounds in 3 weeks 😂

mumtotwo11 · 01/10/2024 12:06

I have a little dog, a bit older so he doesn't like to walk far ... but every step helps!

I know I partially being a bit lazy and making excuses. I think just putting it out there has helped me see that though

Sunday night I stop eating at 7pm, nothing all day Monday and then eat at 7am on the Tuesday for example.

Today I will eat normally and then Wednesday omad, Thursday eat normally and start my fast from 7pm until 7am Saturday.

Once I have lost the 6lb I’ll either stick to OMAD or maybe 18:6 or similar I’m not sure yet but will stick to low carb as I hate feeling bloated.

What is your target weight ? I'm doing IF 18:6 and I'm losing weight but I found doing 16:8 made me maintain weight .

No, I’m not very good at calorie counting, which is why I like fasting.

IF had trained me not to be a massive eater. I also don’t snack between meals to avoid insulin spikes

9st. I used to be able to maintain this without even thinking about diet… up until I hit about 37 🙄

now I’m 40 I gain easily if I don’t IF. I hit 10st during the summer of not IF. But a month of IF and I’m back to 9

TicketyBoo11 · 01/10/2024 16:33

I joined SlimmyWorld and I have to say, I like it. Weighing and calorie counting has eventually demotivated me in the past but I’m doing a steady pound and a half a week and eating well. I have no idea how it’s working but I am forced to cut out the fat and crap…and too much booze if I want to feel comfy in my clothes again..so maybe it’s that..
