I have done alright with loosing the baby weight but my stomach is a mess. It just feels huge! It was never flat but now it just looks totally fat. I had my baby six months ago. How did people get their tummies back in shape?

Bump. Waiting for Geri Halliwell to join thread....

Well done losing your baby weight. I am in the same boat as you. That bit round the middle just won't go. What exercise have you tried (if any) apart from weight-lifting babies?

running and crunches. worked both times.

Stefka · 22/04/2008 09:51

I run at the gym on the treadmill and been doing crunches etc - the stuff I did before I had a baby basically which always served me well.

I hear you on Geri! How did she do it!

Pilates - work on your posture from the inside out. If you do stomach crunches, or any exercise for that matter, hold your tummy in

stefka you are on the right track then. it will take a while for your muscles to remember where they should be. your baby is only 6 months old, sounds as if you are doing really well.

Sounds a bit bizzare but i think that a good moisturiser always helps give your skin a new lease of life. Perhaps you could try one with vitamin e in it. body shop does some really nice products. Always works well i think if u have a good scrub in the shower with a bath lilly and then use moisturisor. and if it doesnt work at least ur pampering yourself a little bit and u'll have nice soft skin

I'm 2 years in and I still have baby belly! I did have c-sec but I think that's no excuse now I have no strength in my stomach muscles & can't do sit ups or crunches etc. Trainer at the gym recommends The Plank. You lie face down on the floor, place your elbows under your chest with your plams down under you, push yourself up straight onto your forearms and toes so your body is in the air, like a plank. Hold the position for as long as you can, I can only manage 30 secs. Repeat as many times as you can.
