Should I get a tummy tuck post weight loss?

I'm on a weight loss journey and it's going well. I was 97kg and now I'm 91kg. It's a long road to a healthy BMI. I'm aiming for 63kg (my weight aged 20!).

The thing I'm most worried about is loose skin.

Is there a way to prevent it?

Or should I be considering a tummy tuck?

If anyone has any tips/tricks to avoid loose skin I'd really love to know what worked for you!

Or if you have had a tummy tuck, was it worth it?

I would say wait and see as there's no way of knowing whether it'll be needed until you reach your goal. I do understand as I've gone from 110kg down to 72kg and still losing. I have a little loose skin but nothing major, it's on my thighs mainly which I'm not in the habit of showing to anyone but my husband. I kind of like it as it's a reminder of how far I've come in my weight loss if that makes sense? I may consider a tummy tuck as I've had c sections previously so my flat tummy days are well behind me, so far it's not on my agenda yet. Once I reach my goal of 54kg I might consider it. You are doing really well with your weight loss so see how you feel when you hit your goal.

Apart from the tummy tuck how are you girls loosing weight any specific plan or just healthy eating ? I’m struggling I have 10kg to loose :/

@Hellobell I've been following a relatively low carb method really. No pasta, pizza, bread etc mainly cos they bloat me and I've found I feel so much better without them. I manage by replacing with wraps or crackers etc. I've also cut out cheese and alcohol for the same reason. I keep an eye on my calories with an app and stick to around 1200 a day (I'm a short arse so this isn't especially difficult) That's all really. I haven't done loads of exercise or anything super dramatic. Counting my calories has just helped me be more sensible about portion sizes rather than anything major. Hope that helps a bit and good luck.

Possibly worth adding I follow a mostly vegetarian diet anyway which also helps it stay low cal/low carb. But that was the case even at 110kg- though I had a lot of bread, cakes, scones, cheese and wine at that weight. I didn't think I ate much at all but clearly I was downplaying it to myself at the time.

I've done from 105kg to 72kg at present . Heading for 67kg which is smack in the middle of bmi healthy.. I will definitely need a tummy tuck !

Thanks I’m going to start counting calories tomorrow and see what I stand at, I also agree when I snack it makes me feel hungry again shortly after so maybe this is something I should consider stopping 😂 I love the cheese and bread so that’s what I’ll have to cut out aswell

Good luck @Hellobell Go at a pace you're comfortable with and don't beat yourself up if you fall off the wagon occasionally. You'll do great Flowers
