And are you naturally that weight or have you dieted or changed your lifestyle to achieve it?

People seem to view the 8 stone range as really small/light even if it's a healthy BMI weight for those of us on the shorter side.

I put weight on and lost it sensibly and now maintain it around 8st 10lb without much effort. I'm 5ft 3in.

5'0 and just under 8 stone. It's far for me though-I've been eating too much sugar and drinking too much wine. Am usually 7.3 to 7.5.

I'm 5 foot 6 x

5 ft 4 and 8 stone - I’m naturally this way, and glad I am because I love food.

I haven't weighed myself in months but I'm about 8 stone 5ish? I'm 159 cms, which I think is about 5' 2.5. My body seems to like being at this weight, this is the weight it seems to hover at comfortably.

Yes it's a bit ridiculous the amount of posts claiming that they'd look 'gaunt' 'ill' 'skeletal' etc at a completely normal weight for their height.

This is what people mean when they say we've lost sight of what a healthy weight looks like.

And then the 'I had to choose between my arse and my face', as though they're purposely staying fat incase their face gets too thin? 😬

I think there is some truth in this though. When I've weighed under 8st, a lot of people have told me that its aged me cause I lose weight off my face, bearing in mind that the last time I was that weight I was in my 30s. I do still work at keeping my weight down though. Whereas in my 20s/30s my goal weight would have been 8st, at nearly 50 its 8st 8.

I’m 5ft 3 and have ranged from 8 to 10 stone as an adult. I mentally divide that weight range into quarters. 8-8.5 stone I’m slim, 8.5-9 stone I’m slimmish, 9-9.5 stone is average - so neither slim or fat, and 9.5-10 feels overweight to me personally.

I’m currently around 8 stone 10 lbs and wondering whether I can be bothered to attempt to get below 8 and a half stone!

Eightstonequestions · 12/09/2024 22:28

@Kneidlach I can't be bothered. Those 3lbs just aren't going to make a big difference to me and what would be the point?
My lowest was 8st 3lb and my mum started getting a bit worried. In fact she still queries if I'm eating enough. I eat well but I exercise well too and it balances out nicely most of the time. If ever I can't be as physically active then I'm screwed! I'd like to be more toned but I lack the energy or motivation. Nothing will make my knees or elbows narrower. It's just the way my joints are. My ribcage widened with dc3 and will always be wider than it was. My shoulders are broad too. My arse is doing ok as are my hips. For 48 I'm doing ok. Do I wish I weighed less? Yes, but I think that's decades of being bombarded with images of perfect bodies of which mine will never be.

I wouldn't be bothered if I was you. It's only three pounds. You're probably the only person who can tell the difference anyway.
