Starting 1:1 Diet - anyone else?

I'm stating the 1:1 diet today. I'm absolutely disgusted with myself as I now weigh 8kg more than my post-partum weight 4 years ago. I lost 2.5 stone during lockdown and got down to 68kg, which was my pre-pregnancy weight. Over the last 3 years I have slowly put it back on and then some. I'm desperate to cut weight off because I'm a stone away from being 200lbs (I'm 5'7 for reference). I was going to the gym regularly and weight training but that only caused me to gain 8kg over the last year. I've just had my first meal (porridge) and starting with step 1A. Is anyone else doing this too and want support?

Current weight is 83.4kg
Goal weight is 68kg
Weight before kids: 63kg

What is it?

It is the Cambridge Diet. Basically meal replacements. My husband's cousin did it and lost a stone and a half last year and recommended it. I had no idea that was how she lost the weight until she told me recently.

Sounds good but won't u put it back on when u go back to real food ? How long will you be able to keep on replacing foods.

How are you finding it? I'm not following 1:1 but using different meal replacements shakes to mimic the 1:1 diet. I am 5 days in and 8.2lbs down. I have quite a bit more to lose than you but feeling positive at the moment! Smile

I'm thinking about trying this - how are you finding it?

ThatsGoingToHurt · 09/09/2024 07:48

Starting today. I’m my heaviest ever. Put on loads of weight when pregnant - I just balloon. When I get stressed I eat. Had a series of stressful jobs with awful bosses and a child with SEN so be battling through the ECHP process.

Londonnight · 09/09/2024 07:55

I did Cambridge 1.1 last year. I only ever did step 3. I lost 6 stone in total over 9 months. A year on, I have kept it off and eating "real food". I do still do shakes or bars once a day as it suits me to keep in control.

Good luck with your journey.

Well done Londonnight that's a great loss. Did you find the support of the consultant helpful?

I ballooned after having my SEN baby , he's finally in school and 5 years old so I can concentrate on myself now

Hi, I'll join you! I'm also 5'7".... I am 77.7kg, but was between 60 and 63kg for years before lockdown so it sounds like we are similar in where we are and where we want to be. I am not exaggerating when I say I've probably tried/started 20 diets in the past couple of years and failed very quickly at them.

I don't want to spend another Christmas feeling not my best.

I'm not doing exactly the same as your diet plan, but am doing meal replacements and low carbing for the rest. I am usually very carbs based so I'm hoping that the additional low carbing will help. Hopefully we can encourage each other!

I will.join you, I have 3 months worth of tfr packs and am needing to lose 5 stones.

I have done it before but put it back on again after losing my sister.

Londonnight · 10/09/2024 06:18

@Gemi33 Yes, my consultant was really helpful, and still is. It is really important to get the right consultant and to be happy with them. The first one I used was remote, and was very difficult to get hold of, was late in delivering products and didn't really support me in my journey.

I then moved to a local consultant and it proved so much better.

ThatsGoingToHurt · 17/09/2024 18:42

4lbs down and it is only day 4. I’m hoping that I can lose 3 stone by Christmas which will still leave me with another 3 stones to lose.
