How to lose weight fast!

teenboymom · 02/09/2024 12:51

I have my 40th birthday party in just short of 5 weeks.
Since last week I've been calorie counting 1400 cals per day, 15k steps a day plus gym 3 times a week.

I ordered a dress and while it fits, it's figure hugging and shows all lumps and bumps. Should I drop cals, do keto?

I'm 5'2 and weight about 10stone 11

Intermittent fasting? That's what I'm doing I'm losing a pound a week , in the beginning I was even losing two pounds but it's slowed down now . I would recommend that to you.

If you stuck to those calories and exercise, you’d like lose 2.5kg/5.5 lbs in five weeks. That’s not insignificant, but depending how your weight is distributed it might feel like a lot of effort for not much noticeable difference.

It will also be hard to stick to after your birthday. 1400 calories is really not much food.

Laying off bread and other things that might bloat you, even only in the week before your party, might have the same visual effect as losing 2.5kg, even if the scale is no different.

Low carb really helped me with bloating quite quickly.

Are you drinking enough fluids and getting enough sleep?

I’m currently doing omad but not for long enough to recommend. I like that I’m not calorie counting. I just eat one balanced meal a day.

Cut sugar, no alcohol or processed junk, drinks loads of water, extra walking and cardio, plus Pilates and yoga 4 times per week.

But I'd also just buy Spanx/control underwear and/or order a bigger size dress because I'm rubbish at taking my own weight loss advice Grin

A bout of food poisoning....

But I don't really recommend it!

More seriously, cut out as much processed and "white" food as you can - you'll feel fuller if you're eating more (but less calorie-dense) food. No alcohol (empty calories, and loosens your willpower)

Add some more intensive workouts to your non-gym days - eg look at Michael Mosley's Fast Fit as what he recommends doesn't take up much time and shouldn't trash you.

Pop your figures into a Total Daily Energy Expenditure calculator I suspect you might need to be under 1300 calories to loose (as I'm a similar height). Whatever the calculator says for maintenance you need to take another 500 calories off. I did this along with intermittent fasting.

THIS.

Especially ditching sugar and UPF.

Life-changing - you'll continue to benefit long after the event is just a distant memory.

yep - get a skims seamless sculpt underslip then you can enjoy the birthday prep and do the diet / exercise etc but without the pressure x

I did keto last year for two weeks and found it great. I'll look into that again now. I actuall6 felt great on it but just wasn't organised and fell off it again

I am struggling to loose weight at the minute. I have just free boxing classes along with cal deficit to help push me because I found I was going to easy on myself with the gym.. might help me let off some steam😅 I would say Keto puts you on the right tracks as you will be cutting out all the processed nasty foods
