On holiday and beefy/fat

This year I decided to try and build muscle as I am getting on a bit now, so chose Caroline Girvans - Iron. I did enjoy it and am half way through.

However it has given me quite a large upper body, shoulders and arms. I'm quite beefed up but still look chubby and out of shape.

I do at least 10,000 steps a day but it seems my short 5'3" body hasn't responded in the way I hoped.

I must say seeing myself in my holiday outfits has really been sad, I couldn't wear a bikini because of my flabby middle but I could knock someone out if they made a comment about it.

Looking for a way to debeef, get slender and then put the muscle on after.

Any recommendations for a new regime?

I'm on the bus and that made me laugh out loud...

Sorry that made me laugh too!

Unfortunately losing fat is very diet-based.

Cardio and a calorie deficit works for me. I love weight lifting but I just build muscle under the fat and get bigger. Similar to you I guess.

I know this isn't the answer you are looking for but I have a flabby middle (and beefy arms and legs from going to the gym!) and I still wear a bikini, I'm in my fuck 'em era 😁
