Don't forget your fibre!

I know it's things we all know, but sometimes it's easy to lose sight of what a difference things make. I've been struggling with a voracious appetite recently and lots of snacking and wondered why my willpower seemed to have disappeared. I track my food and have been eating plenty of protein but was still reaching for chocolate multiple times a day.

Had a look back in my diary and realised that as I'd got busy, and a bit lazier with meals, my fibre intake had dropped quite a lot. Eg just grabbing a yogurt in the morning instead of adding strawberries to it. Adding one piece of veg to a meal instead of two, that sort of thing.

For the last three days I've tried to meet a fibre target as well as a protein target and I've felt stuffed. No sugar cravings, no chocolate cravings, been under my calorie target without feeling like it's any effort.

Apologies if I've stated the obvious but if it helps anyone else avoid beating themselves up over their 'lack of discipline'. Given how hungry I felt, I certainly didn't expect that a few strawberries, bran flakes and broccoli would make such a big difference!

@Wimberry I'm sure it'll help someone!

As a low carb vegetarian I can't imagine not eating the equivalent of some strawberries & Brocolli everyday 😂😂

@Ponkpinkpink15 I'm usually quite good with veg, but a busy few weeks/less shopping for fresh food and more freezer meals and it was surprising how much difference a few portions made, especially fresh fruit.

As an ex veggie I do wonder how you'd manage veggie and low carb though, that sounds difficult!
