I’m 5ft7, started at 17st2 and currently 14st3. I’ve slowly lost the weight over the last 7/8 months and feel good. The thing is I look the same. My clothes fit the same, I went to a wedding this weekend wearing an outfit I wore to a different wedding a year ago and the dress fit exactly the same. Not a single one of my friends or family says I’ve lost weight (and they would!). I guess I’m feeling disheartened and wondering if anyone else is in the same boat? When will I notice it?

I think it depends how and where you carry it. I carry all of my weight on my stomach and boobs so when I gain or lose weight its very noticeable and very quickly. My mum carries it all over so nobody ever notices when she gains or looses.

Have you been going to the gym? I'm just wondering if the fat you have lost has been replaced by muscle gain so therefore you'd technically be the same "size" but weigh much less. If this is the case, as you lose more weight and gain more muscle you will get leaner and will start to notice more of a size drop rather than weight drop if you see what i mean

I too tend to carry my weight around my boobs and stomach/love handles. I’m walking a lot more but no other exercise (apart from running around after small children all day!) Health is my main motivator but I did think I would have been looking a bit different by now.

Hi, Im in your weight range and I am surprised, it’s got to be coming from somewhere. Are you sure that your clothes weren’t really tight before? I think you will just find soon that your clothes are falling off you. You have done so well.

Could you still be dressing for your old size? Eg buying new and slimmer fitting tops or dresses that fit better might show off your actual reduced size? You've done very well so don't lose motivation
